With "The Office" being on Netflix, many have tuned in to watch this 9 season series. Throughout its years, this show has managed to get many people in love and attached to its witty comedy and warm, heartfelt moments, especially during the finale.
This show’s showrunner was Greg Daniels. Daniels used to write for many other popular and successful show such as "SNL," "King of Hill" and "The Simpsons."
This mockumentary comedy is great if you enjoyed successful shows like "Parks and Recreation" which was also co-created by Greg Daniels and Michael Schur.
His talent is shown through the success of "The Office." This show featured many famous and talented faces. For example, Steve Carell, as Michael Scott, the loveable regional manager of Dunder Mifflin.
This show followed the everyday lives of the employees in the Scranton branch of Dunder Mifflin. Throughout the eight years, this show had aired, you begin to develop an emotional connection to each character and their story.
In the finale, you follow the lives of the employees a year after the documentary has ended. Dwight Schrute and Angela Martin, played by Rainn Wilson and Angela Kinsey, are getting married. All employees past and present reunite in Scranton, Pennsylvania for this event.
Steve Carell left the series two seasons prior to many viewers dismay. He was one of the main characters and was known for his many antics.
However, Steve Carell returns as Michael Scott. He is Dwight Schrute’s best man since Jim Halpert (John Krasinski) could not be able to. Even though he was only seen briefly, he was able to deliver one of his most famous lines, “That’s what she said.”
The ending of this show may have saddened many, as it did sadden me but, it wrapped every loose ends the show had up. The ending was very satisfying nor did the viewers have anything to be angry about.
The Finale let us remember why we loved this show in the first place and why we go so connected to it. It allowed us to say our farewells to the show and to the characters who we grew to know.
I believe many would agree, as this episode received three Primetime Emmy Award nominations, and won for Outstanding Single-Camera Picture Editing for a Comedy Series.
These nominations and awards speak lengths of how this show impacted many and how many fell in love with it.
This epic epilogue brought me to tears and made me glad I watched all nine seasons of this wonderful show. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a new show to binge watch on Netflix. However, I warn you that you may get too attached for your own good.
