The Odyssey Rejects Twitter

As a writer of The Odyssey I try to create content that is relatable to others, but I also write things for myself. The internet is booming with thousands of Odyssey articles and because there are so many it's sometimes difficult to come up with something original. However, the other day I stumbled upon this Twitter account; @OdysseyRejects. Originally I was a tad bit salty because they are basically mocking articles and people who write for The Odyssey by tweeting hypothetical, but not serious article titles. But instead of feeling annoyed by this account I figured it would make for a good article to applaud them for the interesting article ideas.

Here are 10 tweets from the Twitter account @OdysseyRejects:

1. "Why I'm Boycotting Coachella Until Drake Bell Is The Headliner"

I mean if you were a huge fan or Drake and Josh, then I could see why you'd appreciate Drake Bell headlining for Coachella. But would that every actually happen?

2. "What Watching Spy Kids Taught Me About Working For the CIA"

Other than Spy Kids being a sci-fi children's movie, it would make for a great article. Minus the fact that it's fiction and literally taught me nothing about working for the CIA.

3. "67 Things You See at Coachella, as Told by Someone Who Wasn't There"

I giggled at this one because I feel like quite a few articles about Coachella aren't written by people who were actually there. So this article would kind of be funny, but of course would be better if you did in-fact attend the festival.

4. "13 Signs You're From a Hometown That Nobody Else Has Heard of Or Cares About"

Honestly, I ALWAYS want to write one of these articles but I'm like "people don't even know where South Berwick is".

5. "I Disowned My Sister For Not Posting A Picture of Me On National Sibling Day, And That's Okay"

This is legit me and my sister, "UH, why haven't you posted a picture of me today? It's National Sibling Day."

6. "62 Reasons Why the Guy Who Texts "U Up?" at 3 a.m. Is More Poetic Than Shakespeare"

7. "How Watching Jersey Shore Taught Me How To Love"

I really hope Jersey Shore didn't teach you anything about love, although I'm sure there are some Sammi and Ronnie loving relationships out there.

8. "The Ultimate Spotify Playlist For Your Sunday Morning Walk of Shame"

This would probably make for a great article, my playlist would include songs that make me feel as confident as the woman in this GIF.

9. "94 Kanye West Tweets That I Would Literally Put On My Tombstone"

Stay tuned, I'll be writing this article.

10. "What Buying Alcohol For Minors Taught Me About Community Service"

It's all about giving back, it doesn't matter the form.

There's a lot more from where those came from; most of them being aggressively over the top unethical article ideas, but you should still check it out. Anyways, I'll still be here happily writing for The Odyssey despite this Twitter mocking it's existence.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
