From their hit song "Talk too Much" to their latest album How Will You Know if You Never Try, COIN is one of the most influential indie rock bands to date. Their story stretches back further to before producing any hit song that is played on the radio today.

COIN's story starts back in 2012 at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee. Chase Lawrence (Lead vocals/ Synthesizer) and Joe Memmel (Lead Guitarist/ Background Vocals) met in their music theory class. They would talk about their interests in starting a band, and it did not take long for them to end up starting to jam out in Joe's room in Hail Hall.

Through mutual friends, Ryan Winnen and Zachary Dyke joined their jam sessions in the dorm room. The connection amongst the four was instantaneous. They all made a decision to form into a band. Still in 2012, they released music on the internet for free under their band name, COIN, to attract attention.

With songs like "It's Okay" and "Tiptoe" under their first EP, Saturdays, which was released in 2012. The band gain instant recognition from their first effort. They followed their EP with playing shows in Nashville. People recognized the undeniable talent that COIN had, and put their songs on the top of their local playlists.

With momentum heading into 2013, COIN released their second EP titled 1992, which was an instant hit thanks to high energy song "Atlas." This brought a lot of excitement to the band with all of the unexpected recognition they were receiving.

2015 was the year that earned COIN their first Billboard spot with their song "Run" receiving the compliment of "...breaking the Nashville mold." The band followed this with a self-titled album featuring their hottest songs "Atlas" and "Run", but those two songs did not hold all of the attention in their incredible album. "Holy Ghost" is a song that truly captures the attention of whoever listens to it building a tempo up to the very memorable lyrics "I'm not your holy ghost!"

Where COIN stands above most bands is that their rising fame and recognition did not fog their vision forward. Working on their second album, How Will You Know If You Never Try, was truly a journey in the making for the band. The first and most popular single on the album "Talk Too Much" was what gained COIN its national recognition. In our interview with COIN, Chase reflected on the experience saying "I did not originally want to release Talk Too Much." Chase furthered, "After we released the song, it blew up."

Their success gained them radio time all across the nation. Each of the band members emphasized that they did not expect to get this far, and every time they play a show, the amount of people that come to see them, scream their names, and sing their lyrics to their songs brings them to tears from the amazing feelings that they gain from playing.

How Will You Know If You Never Try was released in April of 2017 with some of their greatest songs to date such as: "Don't Wanna Dance", "Talk Too Much", and "Don't Cry 2020." This is a limited list, but certainly songs that will that will be stuck in your head over the next several years.

Towards the end of the interview I asked the question "Do you have a band motto?" Chase looked to Joe, "Our album title How Will You Know If You Never Try is a realization we had with a lot of our music" said Joe. Ryan continued, "If we did not take our chance with "Talk Too Much" we do not know where we would be now."

Taking chances is something that COIN became an expert in leading up to their latest album, and the result has been a mixture of fame, success, and excitement. Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
