The importance of seizing the moment goes much further then we may think. Life is filled with trillions of moments spread across the course of your life. However, many people underestimate and simply discredit the power of the moment. The moment is bittersweet or it can be everything you ever wanted in one moment, and then the next it's gone. Quite often a moment becomes a memory. What is so bittersweet is the idea that a moment can only be lived once, no if, ands, or buts. One thing people would love to do is to go back to a specific moment and re-feel the emotions controlling their body during those few minutes. I guess that is what makes a moment so powerful. After the moment is over it is only a memory. At first, it's a vivid memory but over the course of a lifetime, it becomes faded, just like the words on an old piece of paper slowly fading into dust.
The past is the past, and you cannot get it back. So live the moment to its greatest potential, and you will be surprised how much a moment has to offer you. Any moment can be a great moment, so do not misjudge a moment thinking it's nothing special. You may walk the same path to work every day not even thinking about the moment you are in, but one day you run into someone in that moment. Thirty years later you are siting in front of a fire place, interlocking fingers with that same person remembering the moment you first saw the future love of your life. Life is created and destroyed in the moment. The moment is monumental and unfortunately too many people overlook this. So live the moment to its fullest, because that's the only way to live your life to your greatest potential.
Believe it or not, we are all here for a specific reason. We all have a talent and something unique about us. Everyone has a calling, but not everyone picks up the phone. Look forward to the moment you figure out who is calling and why you have to pick up. Look forward to the moment you realize your purpose. A moment is here, and then it's gone. A moment can change your life, a decision determines the moments that follow. One decision, one moment may be the beginning of the rest of your life. Some moments have more impact then others, nevertheless this does not make those moments greater. It's the little things that make up life, the little moments. Of course when you look back on your journey you will remember the big moments that shaped who you are, but the moments that make up the vast majority of your life is the little moments.
Going to the store on a beautiful Saturday morning listening to your favorite song. Taking a walk down the street during a rain storm. The little moments are what makes up who you are, so next time you overlook a moment remember there will come a day where you do not have any more moments. There will come a day where you will live your last moment, and in that moment everything seems to be clearer. Maybe that's the point, not being able to understand the reason to living. Maybe the reason is embedded in every moment you live through out your life. What ever decisions you choose to make never forget to appreciate the moment.
