To the Man Marrying My Best Friend

You are set for life.

To the Man Marrying My Best Friend

I don’t have to tell you how lucky you are, or that you are set for life, or even that you better treasure her like your life depends on it (which it does). There’s no need to go down the list of all wonderful perks you will have marrying a girl like her. I think you know that already.

However, I do have to tell you how lucky she is. She has just snagged the most loving, devoted, and virtuous man. She has no idea of the thought and stress you put into this proposal. There is no telling how much you have prayed and cried over this. Or what it took to muster up the courage to ask for permission. Or the panic in your heart when you got down on one knee. She can’t see the anxiety you had in planning every exact moment of that day, how you carefully assigned everyone a job so that it would be seamless.

Now I’m certainly not saying you’re perfect. You’re not and she’s not. But it is those individual weaknesses that bring out your strengths. Your calm nature balances her outgoing spirit. Her get-up-and-do-it fires up your go-with-the-flow.

You make my best friend the happiest girl in the world. You challenge her--in patience and wisdom. She smiles when she hears your name. From the day she mentioned her little crush I knew this would be awesome. Yet I never could have imagined what a beautiful adventure it would be.

Dude, you are my friend also. We have watched each other grow up. I am thrilled that God gave you her and her you. I am happy that you have found the girl who will wholly and holy love you. I love you almost but not quite as much as I love her. Soon you two will be one, a package deal.

You are the one man you will place a ring on her finger. You are the one man you will give her a new name. You are the one man who will take her as his wife and live life with her. You have an amazing gift in that, as she does with you.

The love you two have is like no other. Your relationship has been centered completely on Christ and continues to be a reflection of His grace and mercy. There is no telling where He will take you but it will be great with her by your side.

Thank you. Thank you for loving her. Thank you for making her feel beautiful. Thank you for being the reason she smiles. Thank you for letting me be a witness of this love. Thank you for letting me be a part of your story. And thank you for sharing her with me.

P.S. Even in marriage we will tell each other everything. ;)

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
