The Lost Friends

It's more than just a friendship break up.

Remember that moment where you used to be friends with someone? Yet, now you may be wondering what happened or why you are no longer friends. On the other hand, you may absolutely know the reason behind it. You may be going through it now. Falling apart from friends can be worse than a real break up with a significant other. There are different kinds of friend break ups and these are the friends that usually are the seed to them.

1. The Disappearing Friend.

This friend just suddenly disappeared from your life and will never be returning to it. You may still see them, but one moment you are two happy peas in a pod and the next, nothing. The disappearing friend is the most confusing friend break up. For neither may even know what went wrong in the friendship and just slowly drifted apart.

2. The Metamorphosis.

Somewhere in this friendship, it's as if they just took a 180 degree change. One moment everything is fine and then suddenly they completely change themselves into a whole new person that you don't even know anymore. Forget everything you once thought you knew about them, that person is just no longer there.

3. The Fake.

From the start there is something off about this friend. Whether it is the way their smile just doesn't quite reach their eyes, or the way they just don't care about you. This friend is able to trick you at first, up until their true colors start to come out.

4. The Two-Faced.

This person is perhaps one of the worst friends to have. Although this friend is quite similar to the fake, this one is way more believable. Everything about them in front of you seems like a normal friend. They are nice, fun and empathic to you. However, behind your back the monster comes out. This monster talks about you behind your back. This monster will slowly ruin your life. Avoid the two-faced at all costs.

5. The Liar.

A good liar can make it all seem real at first, until the lies consume the friendship and burns it into flames. The liar is stealthy, clever, and tricky and will be lying to you from day one. When there's no trust in friendship, the friendship doesn't last.

6. The Bragger.

This friend can start off okay, however it usually takes a huge turn for the worst. This friend always tries to one up you. If you win silver, they must tell the story about how they won gold. Here lies self-centeredness and arrogance, that does not combine well into a friendship.

7. The Gossiper.

Never tell the gossiper a secret. They may be friends with you simply for the joy of telling others your deepest darkest secrets. They take joy from learning anything juicy and will not hesitate to pass along the information.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
