NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA BATMAN!!!

With LEGOs becoming bigger than ever with their movie releases and video game, LEGO Dimensions, it’s no surprise that they decided to capitalize on the superhero franchise. I mean, look at all the success Marvel has had with all of their releases. Thus, “The LEGO Batman Movie” was born. Considering Batman is my all time favorite superhero, I needed to go see this movie and, let me tell you, the film didn’t disappoint one bit. With line after line of witty dialogue and physical humor around every corner, I found myself experiencing belly laughs throughout the entire one hour and thirty minutes of runtime.

“The LEGO Batman Movie” is a spinoff from “The LEGO Movie” and stars Will Arnett as the famous Caped Crusader, with one catch in this particular movie: he is a total narcissistic egomaniac. Things get interesting, however, when he is forced by Alfred (voiced by Ralph Fiennes) to adopt a little orphan boy by the name of Richard “Dick” Grayson (voiced by Michael Cera). And oh yeah, The Joker is on the move to prove to Batman that he is indeed his number one enemy, despite Batman’s constant negation of the fact. To top it off, well-known villains and even the lesser known ones (I’m looking at you Condiment King) make appearances in the film, to the average Batman fan's delight. Plus, if you are a cinephile, you will also be pleasantly surprised to find some other characters making their debuts in a Batman film. Let’s just say that LEGO’s rights on multiple movie figurines come in handy for this film. The stop-motion animation style in this film is very charming and adds to the overall comedic nature of the movie. You are definitely aware that you are watching a city built by LEGOs and the writers play it up by writing in some creative ways for Batman and his allies to get through tasks by using their LEGO bodies for support.

Like "Zootopia," "The LEGO Batman Movie" has hidden (and sometimes blatant) pop culture references within the movie and in the background art. Boy, was I surprised when human Tom Cruise, as Jerry McGuire, made an appearance on Batman/Bruce Wayne's movie screen. It's humor and shockers like these that make "The LEGO Batman Movie" a joy to watch. I will even go so far as to say that this movie is probably the first good DC movie to come out since Christopher Nolan's Batman Trilogy. Additionally, I believe this movie's Joker (voiced by Zach Galifianakis) to be better than The Joker featured in "Suicide Squad." Galifianakis's needy portrayal of The Joker just worked and the dynamic between him and Batman provided many laughs for the audience. Ultimately, “The LEGO Batman Movie” was a spoof on the entire franchise of Batman, as well as pop culture itself, and I believe that it succeeded at what it had set out to do. You should definitely check out the film in theaters. You won't regret it!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
