These days, I can honestly say that I am quite happy with my current situation. I have great friends, a great job, a great Jewish community around me and so many other things that make me feel very thankful on a regular basis. Even though I'm very thankful and very happy with my current situation, I still feel as though I can improve myself.
It's that time of year again, where the holidays will be here sooner than we know it. It's so challenging to be disciplined with what I put into my body around the holidays. First, there are the Jewish High Holidays, my parents and I usually go to a family friend's house. We have a big delicious lunch, I usually eat enough where I am still full around dinner time. It's hard to say no when someone has cooked all of your favorite special holiday food right in front of you. After that comes Thanksgiving, which is always a large feast. Soon after that, Channukkah and Christmas are here. Who can really celebrate Channukkah without eating at least a few latkas and that golden Channukkah gelt?
I am making a goal for myself for the rest of 2016 and 2017. I want to make a point to be mindful what I am putting in my body. Even when food is delicious, I need to learn to stop eating once I am full. I want to make a point to do more physical activity. I've had plenty of offers from personal trainers but I feel like it just doesn't seem like something that would easily fit into my hectic schedule. I want to do something more convenient and enjoyable like taking a walk or biking around my neighborhood. I always say, just because things are good, doesn't mean they can't be great!
