They talk fast, they love deep, drink way too much coffee and they make so many pop references that it’s hard to keep up. Our favorite mother-daughter duo is back. "Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life" returns November 25 on Netflix. The reboot will consist of four different 90 minute episodes. All four episodes will be based on a different season of the year. "Gilmore Girls" fans were let down with the last episode of "Gilmore Girls" that left everyone wondering what happened next. Now everyone will get their answers.
If you lived under a rock from the year 2000 to 2007, let me explain what this is all about. "Gilmore Girls" stars Lauren Graham as Lorelai Gilmore and Alexis Bledel as Rory Gilmore. Lorelai is Rory's mom and she had Rory at the age of 16. Lorelai grew up in a rich family and decided she wanted to raise her daughter away from that world. The show picks up when Rory is in her teens, and you watch as Lorelai and Rory navigate life in the small quirky town of Stars Hollow.
"Gilmore Girls" is a show for all ages. You can relate to it at any time in your life: as a teen girl, young woman, college student or a mom. You will find yourself laughing and saying I've been there. I mean who hasn't asked their self at some point if Amy Schumer would like them?
For those of us who have watched this show since it began, this is an exciting experience. "Gilmore Girls" wasn't just a show, it was so much more. Rory and Lorelai were characters we could all relate too. This show pretty much helped form me into the person I am today. I tried coffee for the first time because of this show, I began to love reading because of this show and I started to write because of this show.
"Gilmore Girls" is what my sister and I looked forward to every afternoon once we left school. We eventually bought every season set and still own them. The show was our connection to one another. It's something that we still feel connected to after all these years. Were both adults now, but we still feel like those little girls sitting in front of the television wishing our lives would one day be filled with love, joy and humor just like Rory and Lorelai's were in Stars Hollow.
This show is one of those that tugs at your heart strings and makes you want to hug your mom. So get prepared re-watch or watch for the first time all the episodes of "Gilmore Girls" and fall in love with them all over again. November 25 grab a cup a coffee, your mom/sister/best friend, a blanket, curl up and watch the new installment of "Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life."
