Many people have never traveled to another country before. But if you're like me, you can say that you have. Traveling to another country has changed me, but only for the better. It's something that can be a once-in-a-lifetime chance, and an amazing one, at that.
Not only is traveling to another country amazing in being able to experience life and beauty outside of everything that you know and are comfortable with, it is an experience that you will never forget. For me, traveling out of the country came with an abundance of lessons gained and learned
To start off, I learned that being spontaneous is no longer a "thought" in your head, but rather it turns into something that is more of a natural action. The idea of being spontaneous, to me, was always more of a thought than an actual action I'd take. It scared me. To the point where I had even the tiniest things planned out in my day, just so everything would run smoothly.
Traveling changed this in a way that opened my eyes, and I was no longer scared. I had transformed from the type of person who used to live their life on "what if's" into someone who no longer feared the result.
By taking the chance, I experienced the outcome of "I did," or the story to tell after the fact. My eyes were opened into the way that I couldn't live my life in fear of being spontaneous. I had to get out there and just do it.
Because of my experiences traveling, I started to realize that change is good. Change was always something that I never wanted in my life. It was more of a comfort factor for me. Going to a different country is a BIG change from your everyday life and everything you already know. You're in a completely different place with all new people, new foods and even a new language.
Just the image of that can be scary. But it actually turns out to be the complete opposite. If you don’t step out of your comfort zone, you will never realize everything else that is out in the world ahead of you.
And believe me, there is much more in this world than you can even imagine. So don't be afraid to step out of that comfort zone and switch up your life a little bit. You will start to realize and appreciate everything you've been missing out on.
You will also be open to trying new, bigger and better things.
Once you've experienced the life of a country other than your own and you start to realize how amazing it is, you will come to realize that, more often than not, you are going to want to go out and explore and do more things that you wouldn't have before.
By having these experiences, you come to terms with yourself and realize that there's so much more out there in the world that you want to discover and learn about, and you want to make sure you're not missing out on as much. You may even find yourself taking chances and starting conversations with strangers.
Talking to a random person to most people seems weird and just flat-out awkward. But after going to a place where you don't have a single clue as to who anyone is, and the only way to be able to find your way around is to communicate with others, talking to a complete stranger becomes a total breeze. Being able to spark up a conversation with a random person not only gains confidence on your part, but could also make their day.
Now, for anyone who has a trip planned to go to another country, don't just think of it as a time to get away from the so called "real world." Think of all the amazing factors and qualities you can take away from it, and how much more open minded and a stronger person you will become because of it.
