What’s a forever friend? How do I know when I’ve found mind? Who is she/he? These are all questions you may be asking yourself. Well, I’m here to answer them. You can find your forever friend at any point in your life. I was lucky enough to find mine in high school and it has been amazing. A forever friend is essentially someone who is your best friend -- but better. A forever friend will be there, well, forever. Through the good and the bad, they’ll be standing by you on that altar someday, and you wouldn’t want it to be anyone else. So here are eight tell-tale signs that you’ve found THE ONE -- forever friend, that is.
1. You tell them absolutely everything.

From the weird to the awful to the amazing, this person knows everything about you. Things your significant other may not even be aware of. Your forever friend doesn’t judge you for this. They accept who you are, and love you and your weirdness despite it.
2. They’re positive.

Whether it is in their own lives or regarding yours, they’re always positive. Not only with words, but with actions and influences as well. No one wants a Negative Nancy as a best friend, and your forever friend is just the opposite.
3. They aspire and achieve.

A forever friend is someone who is driven and helps you to be driven as well. Their accomplishments are important to them, and so are yours. They’re someone you strive to be like and who inspires you to be better. They hold you accountable for what you need to be held accountable for, such as work, family and other friends.
4. You're not just convenient.

This doesn’t mean that you aren’t convenient, but it means that you aren’t the last option when it comes to hanging out. In fact, you’re the first option, and they are probably there in your house talking to your parents, significant other or just themselves when you get home sometimes.
5. They're there for you.

Whenever you are down or something bad happened, they’re there for you. Whether it be a phone call or a visit, they know exactly how to make you feel better.
6. You appreciate one another.

A positive relationship means that you are equal. This doesn’t just go for relationships; it goes for friendships as well. You don’t take your forever friend for granted, and vice versa. A good forever friend knows the importance of equality and is willing to put in the same amount of effort as you are, just like they would in a relationship.
7. They respect you.

Whether it’s simply putting your phone away when you’re together, or trusting each other, the respect is prominent and it’s mutual. This is the most important component in any relationship, and it’s clearly there when it comes to your forever friend.
8. They tell you they love you.

Not that you don’t know that, but the reminder is nice. It reminds you that you have someone there for you always and that they won’t be going away. Of course, you love them, too.
