Like every other 11-year-old girl in 2012 I was in love with a man named Harry Styles (actually, it was Liam Payne but we DO NOT need to talk about that, k? thanks.) However, ever since 2017 with the release of his first solo album post One Direction (R.I.P.), the nation has fallen back into love with Mr. Styles. He is, how you say, perfect? Yeah, I'm not kidding one single ounce when I say that man is absolute perfection. Besides being funny, kind, gorgeous, LGBTQ icon, and advocate for everyone, the man can sing. The set of pipes he has are top-notch and his newest album, Fine Line does not disappoint. I have liked the album since it came out, but it took Quarantine for me to get obsessed with it and do a deep dive. Lo and behold, this is The Definitive Ranking of Fine Line:
* I will not be describing each song in-depth because you should get to experience that for yourself, now let's get going.
12. She
"She" is still a great song, but it's just not for me. It's pretty slow which is good when you're in the mood for it. However, I personally prefer the songs I listen to to be a tad more upbeat or make me sob- no in-between. Would I turn it off if it came next on shuffle? Nope. Would I put it on first? Nuh-uh.
11. Lights Up
Honestly, when Lights Up came out as the first song I was not impressed. I hated typing that. As time has passed, I have grown to love this song. Yeah, after She I love all the songs so this is extremely difficult.
10. Fine Line
Fine Line is fine. It's a very good slower song, so I'll give it that. It's definitely not my favorite but it's pretty solid.
9. Canyon Moon
Canyon Moon is Golden's little sister. There I said it. A solid choice. Fun for the whole family, sort of like the film "Cheaper By the Dozen"
8. Adore You
Adore You is really good actually, I'm kinda regretting ranking it here, but I also have many regrets so whatever. I watched the music video for Adore You today and I think I speak on behalf of everyone when I say I wish I was fish Harry Styles kept in his clear backpack.
7. Sunflower, Vol. 6
I was deciding between spot 6 and 7 and just had to go with 7. This song is a fun "boppy" song that makes you just feel good.
6. Falling
Falling is so good. It's so sad- like so sad. Honestly, sadder than Marley and Me. Just kidding, sorta. But this song just really hits you in the heart.
5. Treat People With Kindness
God, this man is just so kind. This song really reminds me of One Direction in the best way possible. The message in this song is obviously perfect. If you haven't started being kind, please listen to Harry and start.
4. Watermelon Sugar
I know this is sort of ~controversial~, however this song is just pure happiness. It's just a feel-good song that makes you want to dance. Good job, Harry.
3. To Be So Lonely
Honestly, this had never been a fave but then I watched Harry's "Tiny Desk Concert" with NPR (if you haven't watched that yet- make a new tab) and fell in love with it. It's just so simple and beautiful and makes his voice sound remarkable.
2. Cherry
This song makes me also feel sad about my French supermodel girlfriend moving on. Should it do that? Probably not because I have never been in a relationship with a French model and am not ever planning on it. However, does it? Yes. Very much so yes- strictly due to the genius that lies within those brunette curls on Harry's head.
1. Golden
Harry said it best himself when he said this song is like "driving along the Pacific Coast Highway". This song makes you want to just be happy and smiling with the sun shining laughing with your friends. This song is so good. The message is superb. It's such a happy "vibey" song (ew, I also hate that I just wrote that). "Golden" is just ugh *chef's kiss*
