10 Struggles Of Being Broke
The Daily Mind

Everyone has thought about how great the world would be if everything was free. Unfortunately, the world does not work this way. Almost everything costs money these days. Living in a world where everything has a dollar sign attached to it is especially awful for those who actually lack the funds to live the way they wish to live. Having a rich person's mentality without a wallet or bank account to match it is the ultimate struggle that is all too familiar to many people. The broke person's struggle is something that people deal with almost daily in a variety of different ways.

1. When you find something you really want.

Whether it be new clothes or the latest piece of technology, you set your sights on it and decide that you need it now. This happens too often for most of us.

2. Being disappointed when you find out the price of whatever it is that you want.

Nothing ever seems to be cheap in price these days. Everything is out of your budget, which is just downright unfair. Despite this, many of us have zero self-control and buy these expensive things most of the time anyway.

3. When you look at your bank account and realize you spent way too much money.

That purchase felt like the right decision at the moment, but you soon realize that you just spent money you don't have. Now you must deal with the consequences of your actions.

4. Having your family and friends yell at you for spending money you don't have.

As if hating yourself for your careless spending wasn't enough, you have to hear about it from others. By now, they should just accept that you cannot control your constant desire to spend.

5. Working all of the time and still having no money.

Feeling overworked and underpaid is arguably one of the worst things in life. Many people feel as though all they do is work and have nothing to show for it. One of the worst forms of heartbreak is checking your bank account or wallet and seeing small amounts of money.

6. Putting all of your money towards bills and other expenses.

Just when you thought you were about to escape being dirt poor, all of your paycheck go towards paying off your expenses.

7. Having to eat the same things constantly.

If you had the money to eat better, you would. Everyone wishes that they could eat healthier and change up their meals. Unfortunately, when you are on a budget you are stuck eating the same old meals again and again.

8. When your friends ask you to do something that requires spending money.

Getting invites to go out with your friends is awesome, but a part of you dies inside when you learn that it involves spending money.

9. Asking your friends or family if you can borrow some money.

Nobody likes having to ask other people for money, but sometimes it is the only option. If you are lucky, you will have people who do not mind lending you some cash every now and then.

10. Treating yourself every once in a while.

Yes, it is important to be smart with your money when you are on a budget, but it doesn't hurt to treat yourself to something expensive every now and then. Sometimes hating yourself for spending too much money can be worth it.

The truth is, everybody struggles with money. We must always remember that we are not the only ones who face financial difficulties. We are all in this broke person's struggle together.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
