With summer quickly approaching, I can't help but reminisce on my absolutely favorite part of summer... the beach. Especially when our weather is constantly acting bipolar, all I do is picture myself lying on the beach, sunbathing with a nice cold drink. I'm beyond ready for the weather to officially make up its mind and bring me summertime. Laying out by the pool is always fun, but nothing is better than vacationing at the beach. What makes the beach so special anyway?
1. Toes in the sand
There's no better feeling than walking around barefoot on that soft, warm sand.
2. Laying out
Laying out beside the pool is great, but it's not nearly as relaxing as laying out by the beach. Listen to the sound of waves, dig your toes in the sand, and relax with a gentle breeze... What more do you need?
3. Fruity drinks
The beach just isn't the same without one of these delicious drinks in your hand.
4. Beach hair don't care
Getting ready while on vacation at the beach can be done so effortlessly. Minimal makeup, messy, wavy hair, casual clothes... It looks great. But if I were to try to pull that look off elsewhere, people think I'm lazy. If only "Beach hair don't care" was my motto every day of the year.
5. Seashells
You're bound to find seashells no matter where you vacation. Some spots are much better than others, but there is nothing better than finding a hidden treasure and bringing it back home with you.
6. Sunrise
The beach is the only place I am willing to wake up early on my own just to see the sunrise. Any other day of the week, I would completely refuse, but there is just something so beautiful and breathtaking about a sunrise at the beach.
7. It's affordable
Well, no vacation in life is free, but you can get away with a beach vacation for less money. Think about it; you can lay out and tan, swim in the pool, build sandcastles, ride the waves in the ocean, play sand volleyball, etc... all for free. Unless you're one of those people that wants to see anything and everything, I think the beach has you covered.
8. Palm trees
I'm not sure what it is, but I have always fallen in love with how beautiful they are. They're essential in making the vacation truly feel like paradise.
9. Tranquility
No caption necessary. (The words relaxation, paradise, breathtaking, and peaceful also come to mind.)
10. Fresh Seafood
I thought crab legs from the Chinese buffet were good, until I ate seafood at the beach. Yummm.
11. Fun!
So maybe laying out all day isn't for you? That's OK! Vacationing at the beach has plenty of other perks as well. Snorkeling, scuba diving, fishing, hotel activities, shopping, zip-lining, amusements parks, etc.
12. Endless photo opportunities
Whether you're taking the typical family photo with white shirts and khaki pants, bathing suit pictures with your best friend, or dressing up with your significant other... you'll be sure to find a great backdrop from sunrise to sunset.
13. The ocean
It's beautiful to look at, it's relaxing to listen to the waves come back and forth, and it provides you with your "happy place." What more do you need?
