The school year is about to begin and for those heading to college for the first time it can be stressful/exciting to get everything you need for your dorm. From the necessities to personal touches, there are certain places to decorate your new room for relatively cheap. So, get ready to create the dorm room of your dreams!

1. Bed, Bath, and Beyond

This is a staple when it comes to shopping for dorm room essentials. The store is jam-packed and set up for college students each year. You can find bedding, storage, and decor for any kind of dorm room. And two of the best parts are 1) Bed, Bath, and Beyond sends coupons every month to future and current college students so you can save them up and get all you need, and 2) if you're going to a school far away, then you order everything you need and pick it up at a store closer to your school.

2. Target

If you're looking for storage, appliances, or anything you need that comes in several cute patterns and colors then look no further. For my graduation, my cousins gave me a $100 gift card to Target and I was able to get all my storage pieces. It's the perfect place to go if your obsessed with everything in your room matching perfectly.

3. Walmart

Always a staple for picking up cheap merchandise, Walmart is no exception when it comes to dorm room shopping. It's perfect for finding mirrors, linens, and cleaning supplies. Plus they're usually everywhere so if you forget something then just swing on by and pick it up.

4. Flea Markets/ Thrift Shops

When shopping for cute and interesting decor, flea markets and thrift shops are perfect. From jewelry storage to paintings you can find pieces that liven up the room and are completely unique. Plus it makes for great memories and as long as you hunt you can find really good deals.

5. Half Price Books

If you're one of those who likes decorating with books, records, and posters then this is the perfect place to find them for cheap. You can also sell there so bring in books, board games, movies, and CDs then use that money to buy some reading material and mood music to scatter your room.

6. Kohl's

Never forget Kohl's. Like Target this place can offer some cute storage and decor for relatively cheap. You can also find mattress pads at inexpensive prices and believe me, you want one or several mattress pads. This is the perfect place to fill in empty holes in your room.

7. Dollar Tree

You can't ask for a cheaper store. This is the perfect place to pick up school supplies and desk essentials. You can also find little containers to organize the miscellaneous stuff around the room.

8. Hobby Lobby

This place is great for cute and girly decor. You can also find bulletin boards for really cheap and create a vase of fake flowers. Get in there and spice up your room with some fun color and pretty patterns. You can also find some things to craft in there.

9. Michael's

Don't want to buy? Then create. If you have a specific look in mind and can't find anything in the stores then go to a craft store and make it yourself. This is the place where you are in control of whatever you put in your room. Pick out letters or wooden boxes then some paint and get to work. Add some creativity to your room.

10. Gifts

Look back on sentimental objects or letters your friends and family gave you. Nothing says personal touches like something that is actually personal. From pottery to pictures, make sure to add in decor that reminds you of home and the people that made it a blast.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
