One thing I love about new years is that it gives a person another chance to try again. To make new resolutions for the year and actually try to keep them. The upcoming year gives the feeling that things can be different, and the wonderful part is, things really can be different this year. People only need to give another go.
My aunt even mentioned that the New Year can be viewed as a metaphor for Christ and how life with him can give a new outlook on life and begin again with a fresh slate.. That last year can fall away, just like the wrongs people have done and there will fresh insight and new friends along the way. The beauty of the new beginning is something that should definitely be celebrated with fireworks and champagne.
Of course this upcoming year will have its own set of trials, but perhaps this year people will be stronger and not let any obstacle hold them back. This year has been hard for lots of people, especially since so many wonderful and inspirational celebrities have passed away and politics have people rattled. A new start is what the world needs.
