The Beauty In The Moments

Today was one of my favorite days.

Today was one of my all time favorite days. It was such an ordinary day but the pure bliss and happiness I felt is what made it so unique.

My day had basically consisted of getting up super early, then sitting in a meeting all day. It was SO nice outside so after I got done, we decided to walk to the gym, work out, then walk back. Well about 5 minutes into walking, we decided on a different plan. We didn't actual want to go work out but we still wanted to enjoy the beautiful weather.

So we decided to take a drive to get slushies & icees (because the rational thing to do instead of working out is to get calorie-filled frozen drinks). We got into the car, rolled the windows down, and jammed. Literally playing everything from throwbacks, to pop, to rap, to country. After our pit stops for frozen drinks, we then also proceeded to make not one, but two stops for fries. Fries + slushies/icee = the perfect, well balanced meal.

We made it back to the dorms right as the sun was starting to set but this was one of the moments that I wish would never end. I honestly could have rode for hours. It was something so simply yet so fun. Our little adventure made me feel so blessed and carefree.

If you ever feel bored, or depressed, or stressed, or sad, I would 10/10 recommend you take a drive with you pals and roll the windows down. Even if you feel happy, or excited, or joyful, I would 10/10 recommend you take a drive with your pals and roll the windows down. These times are what become memories.

It's the little moments like this that make me really love life.

"Perfect happiness is a beautiful sunset, the giggle of a grandchild, the first snowfall. It's the little things that make happy moments, not the grand events. Joy comes in sips, not gulps." -Sharon Drape

**Also, fyi, most RaceTrac gas stations have 12 flavors of icees and 8 flavors of slushies *whoop whoop*

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
