Let's take a ride (haha) on the information train again!

For those of you who don't know, SoMo (a.k.a. Joseph Somers-Morales) is a singer who, like many, got his start on YouTube. He started posting videos of himself (and sometimes his brother John) singing covers. In 2011, he burst on the scene with his medley of Drake's take care album. To date, that video has over eight million views, and SoMo now has over 1.1 million subscribers. I found out about SoMo in early 2013, and at the time, he was still posting covers once a week, in a segment dubbed SoMo Sunday. He has released two mix tapes My Life and My Life II, and his debut album SoMo, along with headlining six tours.

Now, I want you to believe me when I say this man is talented. His vocal abilities are through to roof, his presence on stage is undeniable, and I mean, the guy is attractive. Every song he covers is dare I say better than the original (no, really, go listen to this, or this, or this), and the music he writes is full of soul and passion. Maybe it's a Texas thing, but this guy does actual magic.

I originally thought he was the R&B type, but then I witnessed first hand as SoMo used his vocals to make country sound like a serenade, and he took pop in a totally new direction when he covered Tove Lo and Ellie Goulding. He makes any song better, he could sing the way-fair jingle and it would make me buy anything on that site (actually, this is a good idea, are you getting this Chad? Marketing!).

His voice is one thing, but his performances? Buckle up everyone, time for a ride. I've had the privilege of attending two of his shows already, and I will be attending my third in November as he sets out on his 7th headlining tour. Every time I see him perform, he has outdone himself. He gives everything in his performances and he's not one of those artists that sounds really great in studio, but sounds really terrible live (no auto tune here). I mean people get to view this:

While listening to him sound like this.

I can't even describe how amazing his show are. He can command attention of the entire audience just by stepping on the stage. Everyone gets really hyped up and dances along, some people go so hard, a girl in front of me passed out last year. He just knows how to put on a show. He doesn't go overboard with the visuals or lights, and it just makes the experience that much better. From what I hear, he's also a great person to meet. He's not an artist that acts stuck up or tried to seem superior to the fans he meets. People have come away saying that he is easy to talk to, sweet, and he genuinely cares about the people that take the time to support him and come to the shows.

Still with me? Okay, good. The point I'm trying to make is, SoMo is a genuine artist. He puts his heart and soul into his work, and it is amazing because of it. Go check out his covers, buy his albums, and definitely hit up a show on his tour, you will not be disappointed!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
