7 Reasons The Addams Family Is The Ultimate Family

Halloween is nearly here, a holiday that lasts every day for everyone's favorite family. They're creepy and they're kooky, mysterious and spooky, they're all together ooky, the Addams Family. There is no family like them from the patriarch Gomez, to the witchy Morticia, to the energetic Pugsley, and to the sadistic Wednesday.

Here is how the Addams Family is the ultimate family.

1. There is no love like the one between Gomez and Morticia:

Romeo and Juliet have nothing on Morticia and Gomez. Their undying devotion to each other make for a beautiful romance. It is said that Gomez was sickly in his youth until until he met Morticia, who helped heal him. The two lovers are proud parents of three kids, Pugsley, Wednesday, and Pubert.

2. Because every family wishes they had a cousin like Cousin Itt:

What is Cousin Itt? No one is really sure exactly. All we know is that he is short, and covered in hair. Once, he was asked what was underneath the hair and his reply was "Roots." Unless you are an Addams, it is hard to understand Cousin Itt's speech. Itt is married to Margaret, his soul mate, and the two have multiple children together. Who does not want a cousin as cool as Cousin Itt?

3. Because no sibling duo can compare to Pugsly and Wednesday:

Whether it is playing with a guillotine or scheming their next ploy against outsiders, this sibling duo is always up to no good. Most of the time Pugsley unwittingly complies in Wednesday's deplorable schemes. The two make an deadly impression on a school camp, and it seems as though they do not need anyone else besides each other. After all, blood is thicker than water.

4. What other family has a devoted hand-servant like Thing?

Just like Gomez and Morticia's devotion to each other, Thing has an undying devotion to the members of the Addam's family. Although, he is a disembodied hand and runs on his fingertips, he provides speedy service. Once, he saved Morticia's life from con artists as well as Uncle Fester's life from his black widow wife.

5. Or like Lurch?

Another loyal service man is Lurch. He is the Addams family's butler, but is more part of the family than a service member. Lurch is tall and gloomy, and is a cross between Frankenstein and a zombie. Lurch oftentimes communicates with a moan rather than words. Unlike Cousin Itt, Lurch is capable of normal speech.

6. What family doesn't want a mother who is a witch?

Often wearing black, it is believe that Morticia is a witch just like many of her relatives and mother. Her family roots can be traced back to the Salem Witch trials. If she is not a witch, how else would one explain the smoke that emanates from below her dress.

7. Because no other family has a cooler theme song:

The Addams Family; they are family goals.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
