Going to a concert is something most people love. The feeling of unity with the thousands of people who love the artists as much as you do is a beautiful thing. The moment the musician steps on stage is an exhilarating one. When you look around the stadium and see all of the lights surrounding you, it is a moment you never want to end but eventually it does...and it sucks.
When the show you have been counting down too comes to an end, you face the devastating reality of Post Concert Depression and there are stages to this PCD that everyone goes through.
Stage 1: The adrenaline kick.
You are still on cloud nine as soon as the show ends. You truly cannot believe someone who you love was just performing in front of you for two hours. You are so buzzed on energy, you don't know what to do with yourself.
Stage 2: The car ride home.
This is the moment it first hits you. You realize as you stare at the stadium while being stuck in a traffic jam, that its all over. You feel like a empty hollow shell.
Stage 3: Videos in bed.
Laying in bed watching the videos from the night and re-watching your own snapchat story dozens of times is a different type of pain.
Stage 4: The next morning.
Whether you have to go back to school or go to work, you are numb, sad, and the thought of socializing hurts.
Stage 5: The first meal.
You are either extremely hungry because yesterday you were too excited and nervous to even take a bite or the thought of food makes you think about the time you ate that same thing before you saw your favorite person. There is no in between.
Stage 6: The annoying happy people.
All you want is to be left alone or with the people you were crying and jamming out with the night before. Happy people get shunned for the day. This is a day of silence and remembrance.
Stage 7: The 24-hour stage.
The 24-hour stage is full of nothing but "this time yesterday I was..." Who you were yesterday is not who you are today.
Stage 8: The beginning of acceptance.
This is a hard stage to get to but once you do, things start to become a little better.
Stage 9: All is right again.
You can finally listen to their music again without turning into a ball of sadness. All is right with the world and you can't wait until you see them again.
