6 'Game Of Thrones' Theories You Need To Be Thinking About
The Hollywood Reporter

SPOILER ALERT. It's finally Season 7 and we're two episodes in. Over the long wait for Season 7, I dedicated some of my free time to finding out as much about the show as I possibly could. My favorite source of entertainment became reading fan theories and various discussions regarding the future of Game of Thrones. After some surprising moments in the first two episodes, there are plenty of aspects we are all curious about. Here are seven Game of Thrones fan theories that I like, love or love to hate. These are theories based on the TV show as the books will take their own direction whenever George R. R. Martin finally releases book 6, the Winds of Winter.

1. The Stark children and their Direwolves.

The theory makes connections between the names of the Direwolves and how they foreshadow the future of the Stark children. If you look at the names closely they provide some context.

Arya and Nymeria - Nymeria was a mythical warrior queen that Arya always admired and ultimately Arya has slowing become a fan favorite warrior princess throughout the show.

Rob Stark and Grey Wind - Grey is the color of house Stark and wind is strong but temporary.

Jon and Ghost - Pretty self-explanatory since we've seen this happen. Jon dies but comes back to life as a

Rickon and Shaggy Dog - Shaggy Dog was a pointless folk story and well Rickon was more of a filler character with his biggest accomplishment being his death that sparked the Battle of the Bastards between Ramsay and Jon in such an epic way.

Sansa and Lady - Sansa wants to become a well known and respected Lady of the Court. But, like her direwolf, her desire to be a Lady of the Court dies at the hands of Cersei Lannister.

Bran and Summer - A LOT of the theories I have read keep bringing up the importance of Bran and him becoming the Three-Eyed Raven and if these parallels are true between the character and their pet than Bran could be a major player in ending the long night.

WILL IT HAPPEN? I give it an 8/10

2. Oh Theon, You Coward.

After Theon turns his back on his sister, again, and jumps into the sea with her in the hands of their uncle Euron. This discussion sparked that Theon has finally hit rock bottom and this will give his character the ability to return and to develop into a hero.

With the Ironborn, the Drowned God has the power to resurrect a weak man into a stronger one once he has drowned. I wanted to throw in this theory because the parallels between a character losing something and then becoming harder and stronger in the after math of a tragedy. Like we see with Jon dying and Bran losing his legs. But, I don't have any faith in Theon becoming a strong character again. I personally just hope he drowns and we stop wasting our time on him.

WILL IT HAPPEN? I give it a 2/10

3. Varys is going to betray Daenerys.

This is a longer theory that I recommend you should read fully. To make it short. The show loves to foreshadow the future, so the conversation between Varys and Dany in the last episode leads us to think there could be some sort of betrayal by Varys. Varys will always choose the strongest ruler for Westeros over anything else, even his own safety.

When Varys meets Jon Snow, the secret love child of Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark, who has the support of the North, the Blood of the Dragon, the strongest claim to the throne of Westeros and many other factors I could get into but Varys will choose to support Jon because of his hesitance for power and compassion for all people where as we have begun to see the aggressive nature behind Daenerys.

WILL IT HAPPEN? I give it a 5/10

4. Cersei's entire prophecy still hasn't come true.

Cersei's prophecy has come true in the aspects of her not marrying Prince Rhaegar but marrying King Robert. At the end of the last season, the prophecy about her children came true, "Gold shall be their crowns and gold their shrouds." Tommen's flight finished this aspect of the prophecy.

Most people believe that Queen Margerie was the younger and more beautiful Queen to replace Cersei. Now that Cersei is the sole ruler of Westeros, Margaery is dead and Daenerys has arrived on Dragonstone, I believe Dany is the Queen to take Cersei's seat of power.

Following the bit of prophecy about her children Maggy the Witch tells childhood Cersei, "And when your tears have drowned you, the valonqar shall wrap his hands about your pale white throat and choke the life from you." Valonqar is High Valryian for "little brother." Even though Tyrion is her little brother, Jamie technically is as well since he was born right after her. It would play out better if it was Jamie because it would be so unexpected but it would also be nice to see Tyrion get some payback.

WILL IT HAPPEN? I give it a 10/10

5. Who's going to ride the third Dragon?

Tyrion. I am convinced of this more than any other theory about this show. His interaction with the dragons in Mereen, the connection they have with him and the way that Tywin hates his son Tyrion.

A popular quote by Tywin, "Men’s laws give you the right to bear my name and display my colors, since I cannot prove that you are not mine," foreshadows a point that the only reason Tywin hates Tyrion so much is because he is not actually his child. The theory is the Mad King had relations with/raped Tywin's wife. Click the title and read the full analysis because this is my personal favorite.

WILL IT HAPPEN? I give it a 10/10

6. Bran will bring the White Walkers to Westeros.

As we saw once Bran was branded by the Night King during one of his visions, the magical boundary that protected the Three-Eyed Raven's cave was broken. Assuming that the mark has that much power, many believe Bran crossing under the Wall will break the spell that has protected Westeros from the White Walkers for thousands of years.

WILL IT HAPPEN? I give it a 7/10

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.
