College is hard. Trust me, I completely understand the struggle of keeping more than $10 in your bank account at a time. It’s even harder when you love to eat and love to eat good food. If you’re moving to Lexington for college, here are the top 5 places to eat if you’re broke like me. Trust me, budget your money enough and you can enjoy these awesome places several times a month. They’re worth it.
1.Cookout
This place really is the best bang for your buck in town. For $5 you can get an entire meal, which honestly tastes pretty great. The quality and price are both amazing, and this is a must for every college student to frequent. You really can’t beat it.
2.Tolly Ho
So much food, so little money. Everything at Tolly Ho is amazing, and amazingly cheap. The burgers, hash browns, milkshakes, etc are all fantastic, no matter what time of night. Ask anyone around Lexington where to grab a late night meal, and Tolly Ho will be the first answer they give. I promise, it is worth it.
3.McDonald’s
Okay, hear me out. I know it sounds ratchet and desperate, but a Mc Pick 2 can really come in handy when you’re stretching your budget. Also, all McDonald’s have all day breakfast now, which means quality breakfast on those rough Sunday mornings. Less than 5 bucks can get you lots of food in a quick period of time so you can get on with your day and not break the bank.
4.Doodles
Some may say this one is a bit of a stretch. Doodles can at time be pricy, but if you find the right items then you’re golden. Splurge a little bit to spend about 9 dollars or so on a very high quality brunch with good friends that will leave you speechless and in a food coma. Everything here is amazing and worth a couple extra bucks every once in a while.
5.Blazze Pizza
If you’re looking for the best and most fulfilling meal around Lexington for a cheap price, then Blazze is your best bet. For about $7 you can get a personal pizza with unlimited toppings on it, which is something that can’t really be beat. Odds are, you won’t finish the pizza, and then you basically paid 7 bucks for two meals because you’ll now have leftovers. The restaurant itself is also adorable and the workers are passionate about their company. Overall, it’s a great environment with awesome food for a good price. Pretty perfect if you ask me.
