Ah, infamous Instagram. The place where we spend countless hours scrolling through pictures that don't really mean anything to us when we should be doing other important things.
We all have people that we follow on Instagram that just go completely overboard, and it's so not cute. Why hasn't there been a rule book made yet? Until an official one has been made, here's what I think the rules should consist of:
1. #TBT photos should ACTUALLY be throwbacks.
If you're posting a throwback from that party last Friday night, no one's gonna like that. Honestly, in this case, the more awkward, the better.
2. Stop trying to be so artsy with your filters and editing.
It's just not working. Are you Pablo Picasso or something? Yeah, I didn't think so.
3. Please stop posting so many selfies in a row.
If your last three posts are selfies, you are hardcore violating the rules. Plus, do you really want people to think you're full of yourself?
4. Stop posting inspirational quotes.
We simply just don't need to see them. You are not a philosopher and you never will be. Also, why are you using them under your selfies? It doesn't really make any sense, tbh.
5. Listen up! Posting times are very crucial.
The best times to post are right around dinner until midnight. You gotta maximize those likes! Anything after midnight will result in a failure of likes.
6. Double posting is a big no-no.
If you do decide to double post, it better be a pretty damn amazing photo you have there.
7. PDA is so not cute.
I REPEAT, PDA IS NOT CUTE. The Instagram world does not need to see you locking lips with your bae. Save that stuff for the bedroom, please and thank you!
8. Please stop with the ridiculous hashtags.

9. Honestly, stop trying to make PicStitch or Flipagram a thing.
They make me dizzy and they're just not cute.
10. No one cares about your outfit of the day, your new makeup, or that you just got your nails done.
If you want to keep a good reputation on Instagram, I suggest you stop posting these immediately.
11. ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS like your friends' posts.
It's just the polite thing to do. Plus, it's usually confirmed that they'll return the favor when you post.
12. NEVER, EVER comment on a photo without liking it.
This will result in social suicide and you'll be considered the worst person in the world.
13. Always keep your captions short and sweet.
The caption is half the picture. No one wants to be reading a novel when they scroll through their feed. Keep it simple and you'll be golden.
