"You don't eat fruits or veggies?" If you hear this regularly, congrats! You are a member of the picky eaters club.
Here are 10 relatable struggles of picky eaters:
1. Eating fast food 24/7
Eating an average of 50 chicken nuggets a week is okay.
2. Ordering off the Kid's Menu
Always ordering chicken nuggets, pizza or mac and cheese because you have no clue what pasta primavera is.
3. Having to say you "aren't hungry" at a friends house because you are afraid it's rude if you tell them you don't like it
"Yeah I just ate" probably the biggest lie you have told your friends parents.
4. Not eating at school
Putting sandwiches in your pocket and flushing them down the toilet--Yes I've done this.
5. Having a different meal at supper than the rest of the family
Me: Eating a microwavable pizza--Rest of Family: Eating some random homemade casserole with no clue what's actually in it.
6. When your friends ask to go out to eat, but you have to check out their menu online first.
Thank God for cellphones and the Internet or else us picky eaters would be stuck only ordering a drink.
7. The possibility of a heart attack from all the junk you eat
Let's be real. All the processed foods we eat has probably clogged half of our arteries
8. You get mad when your food groups touch
My biggest pet peeve is when restaurants feel the need to add green garnish. Whether it be parsley or lettuce. Yes, I can still taste the remnants of the greens in my food and I most likely will not eat it
9. Being interrogated as to why you don't eat certain foods
"Why are you so picky?" Well simply because I do not care for the taste of many foods.
10. Fear of trying new foods
I'm sure we have all experienced this scary phenomenon before. Us picky eaters are completely taken out of their comfort zone. Not to mention, rarely do we actually like the food we are attempting to consume.
All in all, we may be a pain when it comes to food. But just remember--we didn't choose the picky eater life, the picky eater life chose us.
