I have had many, many teachers throughout school. Some of those teachers were better than others, but they all instilled in me the values of hard work.
Dear Teachers who inspired me,
I have a whole lot of things to be thankful for: Thank you for showing me that teachers really can make a difference in the world. Thank you for giving me values and work ethics, that someday I will use in a classroom of my own. Thank you for all the wonderful opportunities and eye-opening experiences I got to share with you in your class. Thank you for never giving up, even when the class decided to be a little testy that day. There are so many more things I am very thankful for. Just know that your work doesn't go unnoticed, there are always those students who think the world of you. Those quiet, bright eyed, boys and girls observing everything that you do, in hopes that one day they will be just like you.
Since I was a little girl, I have known I wanted to be a teacher, despite all of the comments about crazy kids or not being paid a lot. Growing up with friends whose moms were teachers I usually had to stay after school with them most days. We played school in the empty classroom, and that is when I really just fell in love with the idea of being a teacher. All of my teachers have played a huge part in my dream. Some have encouraged me to be just like them, others have made me want to work even harder so I can be better than them. Either way, I cannot thank all of my teachers enough for making me want to become an educator as well.
Love,
The bright-eyed girl that was always sitting quietly in the classroom observing.
