6 Thanksgiving Get-Together Game Ideas For A Guaranteed Fun Time

Thanksgiving is hereeee!

And, that means it's going to be a great time with family, friends, and even one's self. But, sometimes the party needs a little help after everyone's had their food and is feeling sleepy. So, to prevent any fizzling out, here are a few ideas to keep the party alive.

1. Whip out the board games!

There's nothing like some good ole' family fun. Board games are for literally everyone in some form or the other, so pull out that old Monopoly set, and even Scrabble, too.

2. Card games, anyone?

Card games are generally good for all players, and there are so many different games for different players. A quick Google search can give you the games and their rules, so you can always explain it to the one person who always keeps forgetting... Fun fact: Uno has a wild and crazy successor called Dos, check it out.

3. Two truths and a lie

A classic! This one is great because no one has to move, but it will keep everyone engaged... in other words, perfect for the uncles.

4. Fact checker

I don't know if this has an actual name, but here's how it goes: one person is the moderator and the rest are participants. Each participant writes down an embarrassing fact/anecdote about themselves or sends it via text to the moderator. Then, the moderator reads out the stories and everyone has to guess who it's about. The person with the most correct guesses wins!

5. Balloon fights!

This might be more of a hit for the kids, but if you've got some balloons lying around, having a good old-fashioned balloon fight can give so much energy and happiness to a room. (I can attest).

6. Potato Rolls

(This is not a dig at any person's post-Thanksgiving bod, it's actually a game, just sayin'). Two can play at a time, and all that's needed is two forks and two potatoes (or sweet potatoes, doesn't matter). Using the fork, each person has to gently push the potato across a finish line and the first one to do so wins. As you might imagine, the more uneven the potato, the trickier it is.

Whatever you do to spend the time with your loved ones this Thanksgiving, have an absolutely wonderful time! It's our time to unwind, relax, and take a break from daily stressors. Eat that pie, drink that cider, and be nice - everything else will fall into place!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
