Thanksgiving Dinner with Parks and Recreation

These iconic characters celebrate Thanksgiving

If someone asked me how many times I've watched every season of Parks and Recreation, I'd have to lie and say twice. However, it's more like four or five times, if I answered honestly. So since I have a bit of an obsession, I decided to enable it even more by writing about what our beloved characters would do on Thanksgiving Day!

1. First of all, Leslie would throw the biggest Thanksgiving Day party for the Parks and Rec team.

Most likely, she'd begin with a speech about what Thanksgiving meant to America and then go on to open a slideshow she created just for the occasion until someone finally stopped her so they could begin eating.

2. Tom would be dressed to the nines and worry about staining his clothes while taking perfect, Instagrammable pictures of his food.

Because we all want to follow Tom Haverford on Instagram.

3. Of course, Jerry and Gayle would show up in matching Thanksgiving themed outfits.

The cutest couple besides Leslie and Ben, to be honest.

4. Ben would be sitting next to Leslie, eating a Thanksgiving version of a calzone that she made just for him.

Hopefully, this one wouldn't betray him.

5. April would be in Andy's lap, whining about being at the Thanksgiving party while Andy would investigate the missing Turkey slices from his plate as Bert Macklin.

Of course, the turkey would be eaten off his plate by Champion.

6. In order to stay in top physical shape, Chris would have brought his own healthier versions of stuffing, cornbread, and other Thanksgiving delicacies, which no one would eat.

After dinner, Chris would probably run a few miles just for fun.

7. Meanwhile, Ron would pile his plate high with the turkey that he cooked while opening up a new bottle of Lagavulin and glaring at Chris' healthy plate.

Also, there'd be zero vegetables whatsoever.

8. Donna would be dressed to impress while planning her and Tom's next Treat Yo Self outing.

She'd also talk about the latest Scandal episode while live tweeting the dinner activities.

9. Finally, Ann would be next to Leslie, keeping her from consuming an unhealthy amount Thanksgiving waffles (pumpkin spice waffles from JJ's Diner).

Thank god for Ann.

What would thanksgiving be like for the cast of your favorite TV show?

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
