Thanksgiving Break, As Told By 'How I Met Your Mother'

Thanksgiving break is coming up and you can't wait for turkey, old friends, and your mom waiting on your every move. Whether you are a senior or a freshman in college, you will likely have each of these experiences:

On that drive home:

When your parents see you pull up to your house:

When you get that first home cooked meal and it's good:

Really good:

When you reunite with all your hometown friends:

And you share stories of how great your school is:

Then your friends tell you they're going abroad this summer:

You finally get to go out with your hometown friends and it's like:

And you start to have a little too much fun:

That you start making faces to your old crush from like 8th grade:

But, let's be real, most of your nights will be spent like this:

Especially since it's Thanksgiving:

All your relatives will ask you if you're in a relationship and what your future occupation is:

Now you're just ready to go back to school:

So you have a great time for the rest of the semester until finals hit, but don't worry, because Christmas break is on its way and involves even more food:

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
