I promised my roommate weeks ago that I'd write about her, but somehow it slipped my mind. I was asked (badgered) to let her know how cool she is, and I'll do anything for my fans.
1. Thank you, for always being there.
Bailey is almost always there in a crisis. And even when I don't want to talk about it, she's there if I need it - she's walked in on me crying multiple times, and is always willing to let me talk. And when I bitch - and oh, do I bitch - about different things going on in my life, she's there with a nod and an agreeable statement. She listens, even though I know she doesn't really care. And she's been there through some of my not-so-finer moments, which I appreciate more than she knows.
2. You support me
When I wanted to get my nose pierced, Bailey demanded she be allowed to come. And of course I didn't say no - the company, the reassurance of someone who's already gone through it, was something I was glad for. And when I'm stressed, whether it be over classes or just everyday life, she's there with encouraging words or a joking yell for not getting it together beforehand.
3. You're just all-around cool
There are three people I aspire to be like in this world - Sarah Michelle Gellar, Renee Reynosa, and Bailey Morrison. My roommate has a knack for knowing everything about everyone, has super cool style, and even though she can be a brat (just like me, which is probably why we get along so well), she's just a great girl. She knows I think she's the bomb.com, which means that this whole article is really just an ego boost, but I wish almost daily that I had her confidence and makeup skills.
4. We have a lot of the same tastes
I'm a squealer. I get excited about a lot of things, and for the most part, my roommate's right there with me. Sure, she gives me an eye roll and a "Shut up Cass and stop being a nerd," but she's usually pretty excited. She's introduced me to and got me inspired to watch a few different television shows (see: iZombie, Quantico, and The Catch, for example), and she's always willing to fangirl over The Office, Bob's Burgers, or Parks and Rec. Which is great, because I kind of do that a lot.
5. She shares my love for coffee
If anyone knows anything about me, it's that I love coffee. And Buffy the Vampire Slayer, but that's a story for another day. Coffee is my lifeblood, and if I didn't have caffeine, I'd probably be the equivalent of Stefan Salvatore being starved in The Vampire Diaries. My roommate knows exactly what's up, and between us we have two coffee makers, two quotes about coffee, and about nine mugs in our room alone.
Ultimately, my roommate just gets me. I hate the fact that I have to lose her next year (looking at you, RA position), but knowing that I got to experience this year with her, and knowing that she's kind of threatened the lives of any roommate that tries to have me when she's available, allows for me to kind of be okay with having to give her up. (The fact that she's an RA in my building next year helps a little as well.)
