As our freshman year of college is coming to an end, I have so many things to thank one of the most important people in my life.
We saw each other every day and somehow managed to not get sick of each other. We grew closer and learned so much, and I can’t thank you enough for the most amazing and memorable freshman year experience.
1. Thank you for the advice
Whether I needed advice on friends, studying, or whether or not I should go out, you were always there to listen and help me out. You always give me the best outsider opinions, and I will always value your advice.
2. Thank you for introducing me to some of my best friends
Through some of the friends you made and introduced to me, I found some best friends. You helped us become closer, and without you, I don’t think we would all be as close as we are now.
3. Thank you for not judging me
I know I can be a weirdo at times, but I so appreciate you never judging me for my random bursts of energy or odd dance moves. You never judged me through my mental breakdowns or crying during a romance movie. I am so glad you accept all the weird parts of me.
4. Thank you for pushing me out of my comfort zone
Whether you told me to go out and have fun or apply for something I didn’t think I would get, you always pushed me to try new things and do things I wouldn’t normally do. I really became more confident and social by not watching Netflix 24/7, and I have you to thank for a lot of that.
5. Thank you for the late-night conversations
Whether we couldn’t sleep because of the loud neighbors upstairs, or because I came back from class after a rough day, I knew we could always talk about anything and everything. I will definitely miss being able to hop in your bed and just watch a movie or talk about the latest drama.
6. Thank you for letting me borrow your clothes (among other things)
You have arguably one of the best closets in the world, and being able to borrow a dress or a top when my closet wasn’t cutting it was the best.
Your willingness to share jewelry, food, and literally anything in the dorm is so appreciated, and I will always return the favor whenever you need it.
7. Thank you for being my partner-in-crime
If I needed someone to get late night food with me, or stay long hours at the library, or even just take a quick trip to the dining hall, I knew you would always be willing to go. I wouldn’t have wanted to take the trash out (a traumatizing experience) or deep clean the dorm with anyone else.
Living together was such an amazing decision, and I wouldn’t trade our late-night conversations, adventures, and memories for the world.
