In a few areas of my life, I consider myself very lucky. I have a loving family, I go to an amazing university, and I'm surrounded by the best sisters in the nation everyday, but what I find myself reflecting on most is how thankful I am to have the best friend that I do.
I have known my best friend since we were six years old. We were in the same first grade class, and all six year olds are friends, so we were cool back then, right? Well, at the time, I didn't think so. I thought she hated me. Then in middle school, we both made the basketball team, and things were looking up, but when she got pulled up to A team, I may have felt a tinge of jealousy. This is something that she reminds me of because as I look back, I just see us being friends and then all of a sudden not talking, so apparently I was traumatized by the experience. Anyways, we didn't really talk much until late sophomore year of high school. We had both been hanging out with this guy and so we started hanging out as a group. This choice changed my life for the better. It is because of that guy that I now have the best friend I have ever had. These last five years, she has been there for me on so many occasions that I can't even count, and this is my thank you to her.
1. Thank you for putting up with all of my crazy antics.
I'm the first to admit that I can be pretty weird at times. I just embrace each day as it comes and I typically speak the first thing that comes to mind, and she has never once judged me, harshly, for it. That leads me to...
2. Thank you for putting up with the fact that I don't have a filter.
3. Thank you for being able to handle my ugly cry.
I think one of my favorite things is that when I cry, you just look at me and say, "You look really pretty today." It always makes me laugh because I'm probably the ugliest crier on Earth, second only to Kim K.
4. Thank you for embracing my love of frozen yogurt and all desserts for that matter.
I don't think there has ever been a time in our friendship when I have suggested that we go and get ice cream or froyo and you said, "No I would rather not." Again, this leads me to...
5. Thank you for never letting me feel fat.
No matter how much we eat together (and that's a lot) you never tell me that I should be watching what I'm eating. You don't judge me for my food choices, you just let me eat all the queso I want when I'm feeling down and I think that's pretty rad.
6. Thank you for continuing to get in the car with me even though I have almost killed you on multiple occasions.
We have this running joke that every time I drive and almost get in an accident, it's on your side. I swear that isn't planned.
7. Thank you for all of the Friday nights that you didn't judge me because I didn't want to go out, but also thank you for all the nights that you were more than willing to go out with me.
I have this tendency to run around telling everyone that you're my person and you just take it in stride.
8. Thank you for embracing my love of trashy television.
I love the days when we laugh about Jax from Vanderpump or almost pee ourselves because of Todd Chrisley's one liners.
9. Thank you for driving to Waco at the drop of a hat because I had a bad week and just need a hug.
Over the years, you've driven countless miles just because I had a bad day or because something awful happened, and I can never express how thankful I am that you do it so willingly.
10. Thank you for being my shadow during the literal worst week of my life and for letting me call you crying at all hours of the night.
And finally, Thank you for being the sister that I never had. I know that I'm not always the easiest person to handle and that sometimes I say really dumb things, but you've never turned away. I love you with my whole heart and I can't wait to see what trouble we stir up in the future.
