Thank You To My Two Best Friends

There are about a million things I could say about the two of you.

Where to start...

Thank You for ALWAYS being there.

We may be almost 300 miles apart for majority of the year, because of college, but whenever I text you two, you both answer. It doesn't matter what it was about, good or bad. No matter how many times I came to you about the same issues, that I so stubbornly decided to do nothing about, you never turned me away. Even if you had to say the same thing you did two weeks ago, you still did so rather than ignoring me or saying you don't want to hear it anymore. Some friendships change after High School ends, but not this one. No matter what, I could always count on you two.

Thank You for All the Laughs and Memories.

Any time with you two, was the best time. It didn't matter where we were, or who else was with us. We were ourselves. Looking back, we did some really stupid things, but they made for good memories now. Going through my phone, especially my pictures, I find all sorts of memories with you guys, that sometimes have me smiling at my phone, or almost in tears because I'm laughing so hard. Some that come to mind at this very moment are "Detention Hill," and the wonderful afternoon Emily and I spent in our first detention together, because we spray painted the hill behind our soccer field with the word "BRAVES" across it to look like the football field; another is all our 7:45 a.m. pictures in someone's car before we went into training for 8 hours every day, Monday through Friday, and how miserable and tired we all looked. Looking in my texts I realized just how close we all are, because some of the things we ask or tell each other are WEIRD. Also cannot forget all the afternoons we spent at Emily's house, doing stupid things and goofing around. Seeing a picture of basketball, Junior Year, reminded me of Hailey, because we both were always picking splinters out of our butts. Regardless of how awful our butts hurt after the 2 hours we were constantly sitting on the pine bench, we made the best of it and cracked jokes the whole time. Let us also not forget 11th grade English with Kindar, and how we would always sing the song parts of the Shakespeare books, and then went on to nickname ourselves and everyone in our lives names from Shakespeare pieces. I guess Shakespeare influenced our lives so much that "Othello, Laertes, and Tybalt" lived on. I could go on forever with memories with the two of you. So thank you for that.

Thank You for Trusting Me.

Looking in my texts I realized just how close we all are, because some of the things we ask or tell each other are WEIRD. We all talk about things that we would never tell another soul. Sometimes looking back, I can't believe we had some of the conversations we had! Some of them got so personal, but we knew it could be said because it would stay between the 3 of us. It's a nice feeling to have people in your life who trust you just as much as you trust them.

Thank You for Being My Best Friends.

Like I said, there are about a million things I could've said in this article, but I don't have the time in my life to write all of it out. I don't think any of us really thought we would be this close. We couldn't have been more different of people, but somehow, we completed one another. We all brought something into this friendship that we didn't have without all of us in it. We all accepted one another, even when we felt we couldn't accept ourselves. The memories I have with you two, surpass all others, and will be remembered for my life time. You two girls have made my last 5 years worth living. Thank you. I love you guys more than life.

Love Always,

Sam

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
