A Thank You To My Nana And Poppa

I LOVE YOU BOTH

A Thank You To My Nana And Poppa

Besides my parents, I look up to my grandparents so much.

They talk about how they find it so crazy that my sister and I have grown so much, but what I never fail to think about is their love for each other that has grown for over 50 years of marriage. That's a long time for love, and when I think about my future, if it's one relationship that I admire, it is that one. The way they look at each other and laugh together is something that can make your heart melt.

My Nana is the super star grandma, the one with the super cool Bitmojis, the loudest laughs and always looking super fashionable. She is the one to spark a conversation with anyone. When I think of my relationship with my Nana, I think of our summer nights on the porch where we would talk about anything and everything together. She is always there for me when I need to chat and she's the best Nana a girl in college could ask for. I don't thank her enough for all that she has done for me in the past and the things she continues to do for me. This is a thank you to her and my fabulous Poppa.

I love going to Florida every year to visit them but it's even greater when they fly home every summer for six months out of the year. It feels like home when they are here and I know summer officially has begun when they arrive. I know I am not always around too much in the summer, and I might take a while to answer your texts, nana, if I am having a busy day, but I do truly love and appreciate you.

Poppa, you are just as wonderful and whenever someone mentions the word "golf," I immediately think of how much you truly enjoy the game you will never stop playing. I know "it never rains on the golf course."

I LOVE being able to run upstairs to chat with the both of you but I miss you when you're in Florida so many miles away, like you are now. Although, I enjoy every second of my spring vacations down there with you both. There's no one else I would rather spend spring break with. I am happy you both are healthy and happy.

I think of you guys everyday.

I love you both very much!

XOXO Lauren

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
