Dear Coffee,
We met not long ago, and it's weird to say this now but, I used to be afraid of you. As a child, I thought only tired, stressed out, old people took part in being your friend. I didn't want to become one of these gloomy people. To avoid your sugary goodness, I told myself, "Coffee stains teeth; it's an old lady drink; it's unhealthy." I did my best for years, and then something changed.
I entered my freshman year of college. I then became one of these stressed out, constantly tired humans. I had countless amounts of studying and homework daily. I had to be up at 7 AM for classes that started way too early. I had to be up all night long doing anything but sleeping. In order to survive, I had no other solution but to give into this addiction of loving coffee.
And how happy am I that I gave into you, coffee. You have so many different flavors: caramel, mocha, pumpkin spice. You have so many different forms: frappe, latte, iced. I can't believe I ever denied you my time. You wake me up in the early morning. You keep me focused throughout the day. You keep my eyes open late at night. And your taste satisfies my stomach.
Coffee, I can't believe I ever went a day without you, and I never want to again.
Sincerely,
Peyton
