To The Best Professor I'll Probably Ever Have

Professor Conner,

Thank you.

My first day in your English 101 class I didn't know what to expect. It was my first day of college and you were my first class. I was a nervous freshman, but you were so welcoming. I knew that class would be fun right off the bat after you told me you were from Texas as well. It was nice to have someone from back home even though you were technically my superior. The first semester was a blast and it was probably the class I looked forward to the most.

It was eventually November, which meant time to sign up for classes for the spring. You had mentioned you were teaching English 102, but it was at 7:30 a.m., something I wasn't too thrilled about. But, I decided to suck it up because I just was so pleased with how my first semester went and was too scared to have any other English professor.

The first day of second semester and it was rough having to wake up at 7 a.m. and leave the dorm by 7:15 to make it to class on time. But once again, you were my favorite class so the early mornings were worth it. Today was our last day, and I was honestly sad to leave. You were our professor, but you cared about us and how well we were doing. You took the time to know each and every one of us in the class personally. I didn't expect to come into college to have professors who actually care as much as say grade level teachers do. You made sure that our grades were the best they could be and took the time to really help us out. You really did make an impact on all of us.

Ms. Conner, you have really made this first year of college easy for me. You've helped me in so many ways. You and your class are what inspired me to apply to be a Creator on Odyssey. You always had the most confidence in me and my writing even when I didn't. I was a little wishy-washy on if I wanted to still pursue this journalism thing, but your confidence in me has made me stick with it. I believe you have inspired all of your students and have put more self-confidence in ourselves. Your positivity has really gone a long way for me, as I'm sure it has for others.

Although I wish you could be my professor for all of my classes for the rest of my college career, that can't happen. I'm so glad I took your class for both semesters. You have been the best professor, and probably the best I will ever have.

Thank you, Ms. Conner,

From myself, past and future students.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
