There is something about lifelong best friends that make them unlike any other friends you have. They just get you in ways literally no one else does. They put up with all your shit, and rarely complain.
They're a whole breed of their own.
I, for one, could not be more thankful for them. I literally have been friends with them for so long, that they're stuck with me regardless of if they want to be or not. They've basically become part of my family.
I think I speak for all of us when I say we don't thank them enough for all they do. We think they know we're so appreciative of them. But at the end of the day, do they?
Well, here's the opportunity for that extra "thank you" they really deserve and probably need.
Thank you for never failing to check in on me, one way or another. We have busy lives but we somehow manage to check on each other as often as possible.
Thank you for continuing to listen to me complain about school, even after you've finished school yourself. The reassurance that I'm almost done is literally exactly what I need to hear, always.
Thank you for assuring me that someone, somewhere will hire me after graduation. My impending job search is probably stressing you out as much as it's stressing me out, but you never let me know that.
Thank you for supporting me. Every time I changed my major, every time I was unsure about what I was doing, and every time I was scared. You assured me everything was going to be okay, even if you weren't sure yourself.
Thank you for not completely hating me when it takes forever for us to hang out. Sort of being an adult is hard, and you're actually an adult. I'm glad you still want to be my friend, even if it has been over a month since we saw each other last.
Thank you for talking me out of every dumb decision I've almost made and then yelling at me for the ones I follow through with, after the "I told you so's". Eventually, I'll learn you're usually right, but not always.
But most importantly, thank you for being there. Thank you for loving me, always. I could not have done life without you in it.
Honestly, I can't imagine life without you. You've made all the hard times a whole lot easier, the special moments a lot more special, and every laugh a whole lot funnier.
Thank you for being stuck with me; we're in this together forever.
