It’s funny how some people come into your life right when you need them the most. Almost as if God intentionally bugged my laptop to play her at the perfect time, Lauren Daigle belted her beautiful lyrics into my dorm room during the overwhelming change and bewilderment that came when I started college.

One lazy freshman-year afternoon, I scoped YouTube for some sort of encouraging video to lift my spirits when I came across Lauren’s album. As an avid K-Love listener in high school, I heard her single "How Can It Be" constantly played on the radio, so I recognized her strong sound. I had no idea, however, attached to that anthem was a string of 11 more songs just as powerful.

I soon played her album every day. Lauren poured from my speakers in the morning when my roommate and I woke up, while we got ready for classes, during futon-chats and late night hangouts. I even listened to her at the gym and during my walks to work.

Her lyrics proved a constant reminder of the Lord’s grace and faithfulness to those who love Him. The words were inspired straight from Scripture; they weren't just a random words some music producer jotted down on a napkin and paid her to sing. Her songs are genuine and plain beautiful.

This generation needs more music that uplifts and inspires, not downgrades and disappoints. So without further ado, here are my favorite ten Lauren Daigle lyrics guaranteed to bless your day.

1. “The truth is You know what tomorrow brings. There’s not a day ahead You have not seen.”

From Lauren's song, "First."

2. “Before I speak a word let me hear Your voice. And in the midst of pain let me feel Your joy.”

From Lauren's song, "First."

3. “Your ways are always higher. Your plans are always good. There’s not a place where I’ll go You’ve not already stood.”

From Lauren's song, "Trust In You."

4. “Your strength is found at the end of my rope. Your grace reaches to the hurting. Still through the tears and the questioning why, I will stand my ground where hope can be found.”

From Lauren's song, "Loyal."

5. “When my world shakes, Your love remains unshaken… When my world falls, Your love remains unfailing.”

From Lauren's song, "Loyal."

6. “You are God over the storm, and I am Yours.”

From Lauren's song, "I Am Yours."

7. “Even the thunder and the wind obey at the command of my Father. I set my feet upon Your mighty name. So let the rain fall harder.”

From Lauren's song, "I Am Yours."

8. “Let my eyes see Your kingdom shining all around. Let my heart overflow with passion for Your name. Let my life be a song, revealing who You are.”

From Lauren's song, "Salt And Light."

9. “Here are my prayers, my heart will wait. I will bind my will so you can have your way.”

From Lauren's song, "You Have My Surrender."

10. “When the world around me crumbles, and it’s hard to understand, I will run to You my shelter. I am safe within your hands.”

From Lauren's song, "You Alone."

If these lyrics enticed you to learn more about Lauren Daigle and her music, you're in luck. Her Christmas Album, Behold, is already available for pre-order and will hit shelves October 21st. Too early for a Christmas album? Never. You best believe I'll be listening to that gem for seasons to come.

This photo was taken when I met Lauren Daigle after volunteering with her merchandise table during the 2015 Winter Jam in Columbia, SC.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
