Tea cups and bookshelves. Two items that we may encounter on the daily yet never would we compare the two. They don't provide the same product, they are used for different things, and they don't really belong together. How in the world are these two things even remotely similar? Well, in essence, everything and everyone is connected in some way, no matter how small or how insignificant the connection.
The connection here is the utility of both tea cups and bookshelves. Both objects hold something. Tea cups hold our tea, prevents it from spilling out everywhere, and makes drinking tea easy. Bookshelves support items, mainly books, but have countless other uses. The main idea is that it supports ands holds objects. Both a bookshelf and a tea cup hold things, they keep items from being all over the place or scattered and spilled on the ground. So, why on Earth is this relevant?
People are one of two things, they are either a tea cup or a bookshelf. Both are vital for our society and ultimately our civilization to continue to function. The way I see it, a person decides to be one or the other, and they have the ability to change whenever they like. Sometimes a person can change back and forth on a day to day basis. It's all about perception and predicament. Now you're probably wondering, what in the name of God is this guy talking about? How am I a tea cup or a bookshelf?
Tea cups are small, fragile, and light. They serve a small, but incredibly useful, purpose. Now I am not saying every person who is physical small and light is a tea cup. I mean that the people who care about others, but who are sensitive and "Small", are our tea cups. They are useful and are usually in abundance. They make things easier to handle and allow us to pour our tea and drink it too. Tea cups are the small little beacons of light that help all of us get through our day. But, much like a real tea cup, these individuals can be fragile. They, a lot of the times, are relying on the feeling of hope. They can't deal with a large amount of pressure without breaking or chipping. But, a chipped tea cup is still usable; it just requires a little more care. The tea cups of the world make our days better. They are loving and kind and caring to all and all they want to do is help other people, but they know their limits. They know that at a certain point, they won't be able to do anything because they have cracked.
Bookshelves are large, sturdy, and hard to break down. They serve an abundance of purposes. They support countless stories of people lives, both the good and the bad. These types of people bear incredibly large loads, some so heavy they start to bend under the stress. But, bookshelves can be, and often are, pushed to their limits without fail. They take on long-term issues, problems that are huge and need a lot of support. A lot of times, bookshelves will support a bunch of tea cups, and that's the biggest connecting component. Without our bookshelves, our tea cups would fall and break. The ones who are our bookshelves of society are crucial to keep things in order. Sometimes we need multiple bookshelves to support the large load of books, papers, and other miscellaneous objects. But, bookshelves rely on tea cups because they can sometimes put some of the load of the bookshelf into a tea cup. This helps keep things balanced.
Overall, no one would ever think of a bookshelf while thinking of tea cups. But, in reality, they aren't terribly different, much like society and people. We all have our differences, all have things that make us unique, and each have different strengths and weaknesses. It is vital that we have an abundance of tea cups, but also a strong amount of bookshelves to keep everything supported and off the ground.
