If you have been anywhere near a radio within the past 10 years, you are probably familiar with Taylor Swift. If not then here is a very quick recap on all that you have missed out on!
T-Swift (aka Taylor Swift) has so many songs that can cover just about any phase of your life. For most people, when you hear one of Taylor's songs you either instantaneously love it or hate it. Even though her songs are notoriously known for their great use during a break up, you can also jam out to her songs on just about any day. With every goo thing in life there are times that you need a break, which is not different when it comes to Taylor or her music. I, like many others, go through my T-Swift era's where I go through periods that I can not get enough of her songs, and then there are times where I want to run every time one of her songs comes on. Sorry T-Swift, the radio DJ's ruin your songs for me, "it's not you, it's me."
Like so many of us that relied on Taylor to get us through our tween years (bless us all), our teenage years, and now into our college years, Taylor's music has grown as well. She went from the sweet country darling who sang about love that lasts and writing down 'our song' on napkins to a pop princess that dares those who have wronged her to ever try again. Through the years, we have seen so many different masks of Taylor's through her songs.
'Bad Blood' vs. 'We Are Never Getting Back Together'.
Her video for we are never getting back together is all sweet and innocent compared to this new Taylor, who is a full grown bada**. In "We Are Never Getting Back Together," you see that Taylor is starting to find a voice. She has not completely lost her country flair, but is slowly making hr way into the pop seen. This mashup has become one of my favorites, because you see the complete transformation, from what I like to call the "please back off before I go psycho" Taylor and the "Too Late you didn't listen" Taylor.
Shake it off vs Mean
From her times singing "Mean" to now, with her hit "Shake It Off," Taylor has grown up from caring what people thought about her to, to blowing it off. Her style of music has most definitely changed, from the country girl singing while playing a banjo to a harder more upbeat pop sound. If you watch the differences between the two videos and listen to how she sings, the difference is quiet compelling. Even though Taylor's "style" has changed, she has never lost her message. That no matter what others say or do, be who you are and not worry about everyone else.
Piano Mashup Throughout the Years.
This Video shows a various amounts of Taylor swift songs from her first album all the way to her most recent hits. I hope you enjoy!
Right now, as you can tell, I am on a Taylor high! I love these mashups for many reasons:
1. You can jam out to them in the car.
2. It shows such a diversity from when Taylor first started her music career to now.
3. I think they are catchy.
So Taylor, please know that no matter how "boy crazy"' you are or how many people push your buttons, I will be rooting for you so that I can jam out to you while enduring some life challenge involving a crazy boy!
XOXO
The girl who has grown up with you over time!
