I Talked To God Today
Moody Collective Podcast

No matter what is going on with my life, I always turn to God.

"Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always."1 Chronicles 16:11

God is my friend, my best friend. He loves me no matter what I do in my life, no matter what poor decisions or mistakes I make. He loves me for who I am. He puts me in situations not to just go through them but to learn from them.

Lately, I've been stressed and overwhelmed. I feel as if nothing in my life is going right. All I want to do is break down and cry because that is the only solution I've came up with. But for the first time in a while today, I talked to God.

I kept asking him for guidance, confidence in myself, relief and to be stress free. I prayed to be a better person and to love him more. I prayed to have more faith. I prayed to let go and let him take over. I told him I didn't want to be the person I am anymore, I told him I wanted to be a better Christian for him, for myself and for my loved ones. I told him my faith was weakening and that I needed help to strengthen it.

After talking and praying to God, I felt his presence and his love took over my heart. I knew then, that he was telling me that everything was going to be okay in my life and that he had a plan for me. Everything will happen the way it should happen and the way that God wants it to be.

"Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you." Jeremiah 29:12

I need to stop letting stupid and dumb things control me and my emotions when I have someone far greater pushing me to be the best version of myself. I need to learn better to do everything through and for God.

Nervous about test? I am going to pray to God for strength. Thinking low of myself? I am going to pray to him for confidence. Had a fight with someone dear to me? I will ask for help, a solution, and not to be worried.

God works in mysterious and miraculous ways. He is always there when we need him and he will always answer our prayers. Yes, sometimes he may not answer them right away but he will at the right moment and at the right time.

Everything that happens in our lives is all according to God's plan. Never doubt his plans because the plans he has for you, me, and everyone is and will be so rewarding.

God is so great, let me tell ya! God is so, so good and he is good ALL THE TIME.

"For the Lord is good; his loving kindness is everlasting and his faithfulness to all generations." Psalm 100:5

Do you ever just stop and think, wow? God is the King of Kings, our Creator, the Almighty, our Father, our Ruler, and he loves us for who we are even if we aren't perfect! That is the most amazing, beautiful feeling that anyone could ever have. God loves us even though we have flaws.

"When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you." 2 Corinthians 12:9

I am going to be a better version of me for God. To serve and to love him more, to have extraordinary faith like no other.

Today, I talk to God again, and I am overflowing with his love and faith.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
