As college students, we are so on the go I really don't understand how we do it sometimes. I totally understand why mental health is on a downward slope. We are constantly trying to be a million places and do a million things that it exhausts us. My therapist told me about this beautiful concept of a "me day"... and I am glad she did.
Skipping class isn't the best idea, but sometimes you just have to. Some days you wake up and just don't feel good mentally (waking up hungover does not count might I add). Skip your class and take a little time to gather yourself. Sometimes you go so hard with class and work that you wake up and physically can't make it through the day. Missing one class or work day is so minimal compared to the benefits of resting and taking time to yourself.
My "me days" are always chill. Sometimes I lay by the pool or stay in bed all day and watch Netflix. I told one of my friend's about "me days" and she went to get her nails done. She reported back and said she felt so much better. You have to take time every now and then to reward yourself for how hard you have been working. It is important to keep your mind healthy and happy in order to succeed in all other areas of life.
If you're feeling stressed, taking a day off is worth it. Treat yo' self.
