Poetry On Odyssey: Good Times — Why?
A poem for those who deserve more than "time."
Good Times
Why Wait for them?
Why strive for them?
For those who knew them were hell-bent on wasting them
Shooting Stars and drinking booze
Do you call that good times?
Have you ever lived?
For good times are those where your heart feels light after being heavy
For good times are those where your eyes see light after being exposed
For good times are those where persistence leads to satisfaction rather than hesitation
For good times lead to a future where we see ourselves claimed upon the throne
Every dog has its day, that's what they used to say
But they forgot the line that comes before
Your day is only yours when you are able to see clearly
Upon the stars are what you call thoughts of dreary
Good times come upon those who smile bright
For even bad times, they have their own delight
For as one once said back home
"Let the Good Times Roll"
Geaux Saints!
