Michelle Obama's Accomplishments Should Inspire Every Black Girl
The former First Lady has accomplished so much.
The best First Lady to ever hold the title, Michelle Obama, is the epitome of style and grace. She waltzed into the White House standing strong beside her husband and came out 10 times better.
Her missions to make an impact and her "when they go low, we go high" attitude inspired young black girls such as myself. She has helped motivate us to fight for our dreams and believe we can do great things.
In 2010, she launched "Let's Move!," which addressed the issue of child obesity. From significant figures like Beyonce to local school teachers jumped on the bandwagon. I remember in middle school, we spent a whole gym class period doing the dance, which proved to be an actual workout.

In the same year, and for the same mission, Michelle also launched "The School Lunch" program. This program targeted low-income families and provided them with free lunch, helping over 21 million children. It also required schools to include healthier options on the school menus.
In 2014, Michelle began the "Reach Higher" program, which encouraged young students to continue their education past high school. The program introduces and explains in detail financial aid, various institutions, and learning opportunities, and provides support for counselors and educators working towards the same goal. The following year, she launched the "Let Girls Learn" initiative to help young girls go and stay in school. She now encourages other countries to push this initiative as well.
These are only a few of her many accomplishments. With the recent release of her book "Becoming," she continues to inspire women and young girls around the world. I can definitely say this young woman is inspired!
Mrs. Obama is the ultimate role model, and I only hope to make half the difference that she has and continues to make.
If she ever just happens to come across this article, I would just like to say:
Mrs. Michelle Obama, thank you for your never-ending efforts to make this country a better place. Your hard work and dedication to your husband, daughters, and this country speaks volumes for young women like me. I pray God continues to cover and guide you. Thank you for all you have done.
Sincerely,
An Inspired Young Black Woman
