6 Ways To Survive Your Morning Class In College This Semester
How to get through a tough early morning class in college that we regret signing up for.
We've all been stuck with that one class that starts at 7:30 a.m. or 8:00 a.m. and we just think to ourselves how utterly ridiculous that classes start that early?! Going in with a negative attitude towards the class for it being so early, can lead to not so good consequences. Usually, it results oversleeping and ignoring the alarm, or waking up for the alarm and turning it off while swiftly going back to sleep knowing you'll be skipping class for another time this week. We've all been through a situation like this and they usually never ended well.
Since 2019 has started and spring semester is creeping on all of us, it's time we change our habits and finally begin attending these dreadful morning classes. It's time to make them a little less dreadful!
1. Go to sleep early.
GiphyYou definitely won't wake up for that 7:30 a.m. class if you're going to go to sleep around 1 a.m. Get some beauty sleep and go to bed much earlier so that you get enough sleep for your brain to even function. Getting enough sleep will make your body want to get up for the day, so make sure you get some good rest.
2. Eat a healthy breakfast.
GiphyPutting some food into your body will wake you up and get you ready for the day. You'll actually make your class this time! Avoid hitting the snooze button a couple of times so that you have time to actually make yourself some breakfast. Usually, I'm not a big eater in the morning, mostly because my body is still tired and drowsy, so I usually bring breakfast on the go, which I recommend if you're just like me.
3. Take a shower before.
GiphyShowers are definitely key to waking yourself up, and not to mention you feel clean and refreshed. Take some time to take a nice shower before class, it'll make you more eager to go out and actually attend class instead of skipping.
4. Drink water with lemon.
GiphyDrinking water with lemon makes you hydrated and also wakes up your body a little more. You'll feel refreshed and ready to take on the day. I recommend taking it on the go to all of your classes so you feel refreshed the rest of the day.
5. Sit in the front of class.
GiphySitting in the front of the class will help you stay focused throughout the whole thing and won't make you as tired. The professor will most likely be looking at you more, so hopefully, it scares you enough to stay awake throughout the entire thing.
6. Set a good song as your alarm.
GiphyIf you set up one of your favorite songs as your alarm, you will probably wake up more instead of snoozing. It's such a good song why would you turn it off anyways? This is a good way to wake up and to avoid hitting the snooze button.
I hope that these insightful tips have made you more eager to attend class instead of skipping. It's time to get on track for 2019 and to start attending your classes, even the early ones. Attending class and putting in the effort will get you good grades, so get out of bed, make some breakfast and go to class.
