A Synonym For Summer Is Concerts

Summer is the season that has the greatest potential for concerts. Many music festivals are becoming more and more popular, gaining a lot of attention. Why pay $20-$200 for 1-3 bands when you can pay $50-400 to have the possibility to see 10-50 bands? It seems like most of my favorite bands will be hitting the road this summer, and I would like to share with you some of the people I am excited to see perform.

First is the Emotional Roadshow by twenty one pilots. This band seems to never stop touring, as this will be their second US tour promoting their latest album, Blurryface which was released one year ago. With the duo wearing their famous ski masks on promotional posters, I wonder if Tyler Joseph, the lead singer, will dress in his Blurryface attire; that being black goop on the hands and neck to represent his bad alter-ego, and the complimenting black skinny jeans and red beanie.

I am sure the audience would love to see the continuation of the well known flower kimono with white-sunglasses, as the look became more popular as their new single "Ride" shows in the music video. Many are also wondering if there is new music, and if so, when they will start playing those live. I always enjoy when a band plays a new song, because the audience that usually chants along to every word will no longer have that power.

It's also great to see the energy given back to the audience in response to the new song; did it make people dance? Did the crowd jump around and start a mosh? Did they nod their head to the beat and sway their hands in the air? This type of live feedback gives an artist a lot of insight to how their listeners will enjoy their upcoming music. The possibilities of Emotional Roadshow are endless, but as the name implies, I'm sure it will be a wet and wild ride.

Another concert I am psyched to see perform this summer is the Andrew McMahon in The Wilderness, Panic! At The Disco and Weezer tour. The date I will be seeing this show is coincidently the same date of Warped Tour, so already I know I will be seeing more than three amazing bands play in one day.

I am excited to see the pianist Andrew McMahon play promoting his "solo" album. From what I gather, his stage energy is out of this world, because he pours his soul into every performance of every song. As a Something Corporate and Jack's Mannequin fan, I was surprised by the new album as it is more pop in nature, but I love it just the same. Now, Panic! At The Disco is one of my favorite bands, and I can't wait to see Brendon Urie wearing skinny leather pants singing falsetto into his gold microphone while doing a back-flip. The energy Brendon Urie has on stage is the equivalent to a raging party.

I am excited to party with Brendon and the rest of the boys while they promote their new album Death Of A Bachelor. As for Weezer, I only know there famous hit singles, but one of my favorite producers just helped them put out a new album. From what I hear, it is a cool album with "California vibes", which makes me glad because it will end the concert day with relaxing vibes from the crazy musical energy of the two opening acts plus a whole day at Warped Tour.

What concerts and festivals are you excited to see this summer? Let me know at any of my social media sites! Have a fun and safe time!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
