Make The Switch from Music To Podcasts For The Gym And You Will Thank Me Later

I'm in the process of making the shift to listening to podcasts from listening to music, and it's been the best thing for educating myself.

I have been in the process of shifting to listening to podcasts while working out instead of listening to music. Don't get me wrong, music is my jam, but podcasts have more value for my mind.

The right kind of podcast can provide motivation, inspiration, education, general information, information for niche audiences, or even a way to escape. A lot of podcasts are free on iTunes or by just going to the podcast website and listening straight from there. I do both.

Generally, I will download podcasts from iTunes, and I'll listen to them when I don't have wifi. When I do have wifi, I'll listen straight from their website. I've found my personal favorites, but I encourage you to find your own favorites. Until then, give my favorites a listen!

MFCEO Project Podcast with Andy Frisella

Yes, you probably guessed it. It stands for Mother F****** CEO. To be really honest, I don't like the f-word. And it's said. A lot. Regardless, Frisella is amazing at giving strategies to help you succeed in life, helping you realize that being yourself is the best option and that living up to your potential is absolutely only up to yourself.

The TurnAround Podcast with Jesse Thorn

I actually learned about this one through one of my journalism professors. This one is more for niche audiences - journalists, public relations specialists, advertisers, etc. I am majoring in PR, and I love it! I love educating myself on all things PR, and that definitely includes journalism (and writing) aspects. Jesse hosts some of the best in the business, including Katie Couric, Larry King, and Dick Cavett.

Spartan Up with Joe Desena

This one is more of a lifestyle podcast. Joe and his team interviews people and captures the definition of success from them. It has more of a laid-back vibe and sounds more conversational. There are so many incredible featured people on this podcast, but you'll have to find out for yourself who they are.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
