If you're anything like me, you're always in the mood for dessert treats. Ice cream, brownies, cookies, cake, maybe a mix of all mentioned. I often compare myself to the children from Willy Wonka, constantly snacking on anything sweet and never having enough of it. Living in the greatest city in the world certainly has its perks, including some of the best places to get a sweet and tasty treat. So if you need a fix of some sugar, here are some great places to consider!

1. Baked by Melissa

Now, this place isn't considered an actual restaurant, but it's definitely worth the stop in. These cute and tasty cupcakes are absolutely to die for, and they Coke in a variety of great flavors! They have a flavor of the month (this month is Tri-Colored Cookies flavored) and each bite-sized cupcake is only $1! Definitely worth a trip to one of their many locations in the city!

Find a location here.

2. Dylan's Candy Bar

It says it in the name. One of my personal favorite places in the city, Dylan's is home to hundreds of varieties of candy and sweet treats, including an area devoted to cakes shakes and other indulgent treats. Their decor is so cute, as seen above, and it's definitely one of the sweetest places around. A little bit on the pricier side, Dylan's is a great place to stock up on some of your favorite candies or simply enjoy a delicious piece of cake!

Check it out here!

3. Black Tap

Known for their crazy shakes, Black Tap is definitely worth the wait on line. With three locations in the city, Black Tap's lines can take over an hour to get inside but it's soooo worth it. Their crazy shakes are loaded with sugar, starting with a flavor of shake and topped with all sorts of other toppings, like a cookie ice cream sandwich, cotton candy, and one their newest shake- an entire piece of cheesecake! This awesome place will have everyone on your Instagram salivating and wanting some!

Get your hands on a shake now!

4. Sprinkles Cupcake ATM

If you need a quick and easy snack, this is definitely your best bet. This legitimate ATM dispenses over fifteen types of cupcakes, including red velvet and cookies and cream flavors among many others! I couldn't believe my eyes when it showed the process of the dispensing, using a camera placed inside the store itself! The Cupcake ATM is one of a kind and truly a great place for a fast and sweet snack.

See it for yourself!

5. Pop-Tarts Cafe

That's right, a place devoted to the anytime-of-day snack. This awesome pop-up show offers treats like confetti-cupcake inspired nachos and cookies and creme inspired burritos! I don't know about you but this place sounds like a childhood dream!

Check out the story here.

6. DŌ

If you've ever been told that eating cookie dough is bad for you, here's your opportunity to eat it care-free. One of the newest crazes, DŌ allows customers to make cookie-dough creations, without worrying about the health risks. The line for this place usually is pretty long (I'm talking three blocks, people) so make sure to get there early!

You can check it out here.

Happy snacking!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
