I Survived Universal Studio Horror Nights

And only got scared once, sadly.

I like to think that nothing scares me—except when it comes to spiders and clowns and snakes. But after that short list, nothing frightens me. Not even the boogeyman!

I usually walk into a scary movie with the high hopes that I am going to end up getting the fright of my life, but most of the time, I just sit there and wonder if this was one of the biggest mistakes in my life (like going to watch IT...).

A couple weeks ago, I went with the same hopes to Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios. If memory serves perfectly, the last time that I went to a haunted house I almost shat my pants, but then I was like probably ten or eleven years old, so I don't recall much of that experience.

However, going to Universal Studios hadn't been in my plans.

My best friend came and kidnapped me from school since she had bought my ticket. We went in the car of one of our friends, six of us in total. I, since I'm one of the smallest of my squad of friends, had to go on the trunk of the car.

Now, I am totally not complaining. I was comfortable back there. I even napped!

Now, to come back from my tangent, I was pretty anxious about what might go on in there. Was I going to end up getting scared or not? I knew there was an American Horror Story maze in there, and also an Insidious one, and an Ash vs. Evil Dead. Of course, I was pumped to go into all of those, which I did.

And, meanwhile all of my friends yelled their lungs out, my arm was being crushed by my best friend as we walked through them, her clinging on to me like if I could protect her from the hideous atrocities found in the mazes.

I'm not saying they were lame—I just wasn't scared at all.

Instead of being frightened to death, I was more...excited about the themes they had for each maze. I gawked with amusement at the people who lunged at us with gruesome masks and plastic knives. I laughed at the cheesy attempts they did to scare people out of their mind.

When I went inside the American Horror Story maze, I was thrilled. I was screaming at almost every scene of the show that I recognized in the maze. I was even jumping in awe when they had a Liz strapped down to a chair, and part of her thigh missing. Call me insane, but it was gruesomely awesome!

I was even running toward these people dressed like lumberjacks and with pumpkin heads, begging them to take a picture with me.

Instead, they'd just point their chainsaws at me, and move onto my friend when they heard her screaming out of fright... Sadly, I didn't get any pictures.

But I do have a picture of the gang!

And even though I only jumped once, because this thing double my size just sprang in front of me without me noticing, I had fun. I had fun watching my friends almost having a heart attack in all of the mazes we went into.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
