What Your Summer Says About You

Summer break is almost gone and it's back to reality. Let's see what your summer break says about you..

1. Going Home

The typical freshman experience is going home for summer break. It's still the the longest time you've been away from home, and you really miss your family, friends, and dogs (but mostly your dogs). A little relaxation away from school and in the comfort of your own bed is a nice. Then back to school!

2. PARTY DESTINATIONS

It's summer break and it's time to get cray. You've rallied your best friends, and its time to party after finishing off the school year with all-inclusive drinks, food, and the time of your life. "That one time in [enter party spot here]" is going to be all you talk about for the next few months when fall comes around, even if you barely remember a thing.

3. Traveling Elsewhere

You're OK being away from home for extended periods of time, and Cabo last year was just so much fun that it couldn't be topped. If you're one who's choosing to travel elsewhere this spring break, your wanderlust is at a maximum and you're prepared to get away even if it's only for a week. Save up those extra dollars and see the world every chance you get!

4. Camping

The outdoors is your escape, and you'd love to get away from civilization for a few days. Camping is your calling this summer, where you can get get away from school, societal pressures, and everything else. Breathe some fresh air while you get the chance!

5. Staying at School

School might be your main focus right now, or maybe you just couldn't get those June plans ready in time. Either way, staying at school might be a good thing if you can truly focus on what's important, or a way for you to center yourself and really figure out those summer classes, next semester's schedule, and your major. A little break from homework and midterms is still nice.

6. The Beach

You need to get your tan on and lay out in the beautiful Southern California weather. Spending summer vacation on the beach is all you've been dreaming of and you've already bought over $100 of new bikinis for this season.

Whether it's staying at school or traveling halfway across the world, summer can be spent in so many various ways. Continue to enjoy yours while you can!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
