Summer is coming around the corner! Even though it still feels like winter most days, it's never too early to practice your summer glow. We all want to wear a glam makeup look to our friends' graduation parties or a night out on the town, but hate the feeling of it dripping down our face. Using light makeup helps fight the heat.

Here is how to keep it simple this summer with drugstore and higher-end options.

1. Use a light primer.

Go to Ulta and try out POREfessional Face Primer by Benefit Cosmetics as a matte option or MAC's Prep + Prime Fix + as a more natural option. Always moisturize your face before you prime!

2. BB creams can do the same job.

Skip the full coverage and protect your skin from the sun. Try Clinique's Age Defense BB Cream Broad Spectrum SPF 30. Using sunscreen helps prevent against sun spots and wrinkles.

3. Try a new concealer.

I know we are all stuck on our Tarte Shape Tape concealer, but a lighter option is Too Faced's Born This Way Naturally Radiant Concealer. Don't add too much or else you will be blending for days.

4. Bronze your face.

Warm up your face with a lighter bronzer by Physicians Formula called Butter Bronzer.

5. Add color back to your face with blush.

Use Tarte's Amazonian Clay 12 hour blush on the apples of your cheeks for longer wear. For more options and mixing colors, use Makeup Revolution's Ultra Blush and Contour Palette. Just do not overdo it like how our mother's used to for dance competitions or picture day.

6. Glow!

Blend in Morphe's Limited Edition Morphe x Bretman Babe in Paradise Highlighter Palette above your bronzer for a soft glow.

7. Fill in your brows naturally.

Use Anastasia Beverly Hills' Brow Wiz pencil or Benefit Cosmetics' Gimme Brow+ Volumizing Eyebrow Gel for easy application.

8. Use your favorite eyeliner.

Use a brown or black pencil on the lower lash line to make your eyes smaller looking or use a white pencil to make you look more awake for those early mornings. Cheaper options are NYX's Retractable Eye Liner or ULTA Brand's Gel Eyeliner Pencil.

9. Skip the eye primer and heavy eyeshadow!

Use the bronzer and pop into the crease of your eyes for an easy eye look. Or if you want the full look use a fun eyeshadow palette like Tarte's new Be A Mermaid and Make Waves. Blue eyeshadow is acceptable these days... unlike middle school.

10. Pop on lashes... or just mascara.

Depending on the occasion or preference, make your lashes fuller with wispy lashes or mascara such as Kiss' Looks So Natural Lash and Benefit Cosmetics' Roller Lash.

11. Try a hydrating gloss.

Try Tarte's new water-based H2O gloss for hydration or Anastasia Beverly Hills' Lip Gloss in 25 shades.

12. Last but not least...

Use a setting spray to hold in your makeup. Depending on your skin type you could use matte or dewy. A good option with SPF 50 is Supergoop's Defense Refresh Setting Mist.

Save yourself from the embarrassing mistakes that can be easily fixed while getting ready. Follow this routine and you will slay all day and make your friends jealous of how well your makeup has stayed put.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
